WOYWW - mess or creative chaos?

Well I'm writing this at midnight Tuesday just before I go to bed - have no energy left to clear up but I have had a very productive day and honestly, it looks worse than it is. I will post just before I go to work and then catch up in the evening as part of my resolution to get more involved in well - EVERYTHING!! No challenges for me so far this week but I finished off a journal page today (see below) and managed to almost finish a canvas for myself that I have been working on for months. (However I will probably be fiddling with the exact position of the leaves and flowers for another day at least).

I have been getting very inky this week - the money I paid for that manicure yesterday was not really money well spent!! I also succombed (sp?) at the weekend and bought two distress stains as everyone keeps going on about them.  I coloured a couple of tags and yeah I can see how I might get hooked on these. There also might be some halloween craft going on if you look real close!!

On my other desk I had my melt pot out because I wanted to experiment with using shrink plastic in it - well, one little leaf worked perfectly, but then the heat seemed to go :o( so the trusty old heat gun had to come out for the rest. I will try again tomorrow but I think the thermostat might have gone. Here's a close up of my little leaves (they are tiny lol) and a bit dark because I only had some black shrink plastic. I coloured them with embossing powders (there's quite a lot of that on the floor because when I reached up to get a punch from the shelf it fell down and of course, all the lids were off the pots of embossing powder).

I don't know what I'm going to use them for but I have a sweet little birdhouse to alter that they would fit perfectly. So, What's on Your Workdesk this Wednesday? If you don't already know what I'm talking about you need to hop on over to Julia's blog and join in - it's just a load of crafters showing off the mess the creative chaos in their work rooms and having a bit of fun at the same time, no pressure to go everywhere but why not visit someone new, you'll never know what you may find!!

Gorgeous autumnal leaves - doesn't matter what you use them for, they'll be fab! As I garden without gloves, having a manicure would be a complete waste of time. I can just about remember to use hand cream, lol !!

Ooh Cindy, love the workspace, and as for those leaves! Well, they are just gorgeous. I am just about to try this technique, heat embossing and shrinking shrink plastic all in one go, using the heat gun. I'm making some gear wheels and other grungey bits for a steampunk project I'm working on. I've just moulded a whole lot of Friendly Plastic bits if you want to hop over to my blog and have a look. I must try some leaves - the colours and shapes are so lovely! Look forward to seeing what you do with them. Happy WOYWW!

Hi Cindy, thanks for your two lovely comments on my blog - they did get through OK! I've been having problems with Blogger since before Christmas last year. Someone said it was something to do with Google and WikiLeaks - political stuff - and Google was getting its own back or some such - can't say I understood it at the time or now!! All I know is it's a major pain in the proverbial. I'm definitely going to try some of your lovely leaves, and more FP!

Actually, it doesn't look bad at all to me, more inviting. I could sit down and start straight away! The canvas is just lovely - funny how you have something on the go for ages and then all of sudden - poof! You finish it just like that. The stains - love 'em, much more than the pads, they just seem to make sense to me.

I'm so green with envy when someone says "and on my other desk"!!!!!! Love the green leaves. I like using shrink plastic. Must admit though I shied away from buying the black . I have clear, opaque and white and use my heat gun for shrinking it down Only takes a few seconds to do. Did you use a die cut for your leaves? Hugs Mrs A.
P.s. The boys soon lost interesting clearing leaves when it was time for their favourite tv programe to come on!

Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog, Cindy - I love making my own embellishments mainly because I'm so mean lol!!! You can buy lovely ones but they are very expensive and you only use them once, and they're gone. I love moulds because you can make as many embellishments as you want. It's also really satisfying! So glad you like my grungey mirror.
