What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #668

Morning deskers, another whizz by week forme - what have you been up to? Not a huge amount of crafting for me this last few days because the sunshine has tempted me outside into the garden. I've also been walking a lot as I am a tad behind on my monthly target for walking - I'm aiming to do 1,000 miles by the end of the year and at this rate I really need to get a wriggle on, I still haven't quite made it to 200. Would help if I got up a bit earlier!!

So here's my desk this week. Pretty tidy, I have just finished prepping for this week's craft crop. I'm left with all these mustard off-cuts though. What to do with them - any ideas other than bookmarks or tags?

also made a start on those commissions. Here's the first one.

I kind of know what the other two are going to be now, so not too much pressure - one is definitely gonna have these guys. This is those panda bear die cuts I showed you the other week but made up as teddy bears. Cuteness overload lol.

Hope to get round to everyone as I'm not sure I will make it the next couple of weeks as I'm away and not too sure about the wi-fi situation. First proper holiday in 2 years,  re-scheduled from March 2020 - I'm so excited! DD and boyfriend have also booked to come for a few days (not staying with us - phew!!) so that will be nice too to have someone to meet up with.

So, why am I showing you my desk? Well it's our weekly Wednesday Blog Hop - WOYWW. Here's the link to the one responsible, the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground - pop on over and join in, see what it's all about and join in yourself.

Have a great week, stay well, stay safe,

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #667

Morning Deskers, another week, another Wednesday, and another nose around people's desks to see what's what.

Here is my desk late Tuesday, a friend was visiting to make cards and she needed to make a birthday card for a male friend who she described as 'awkward' - ie, booze, cars, travel, dogs, fishing, sailing, golf or football wouldn't be appropriate. She does like a themed card.  I suggested we just did something a little arty with happy birthday on and after a quick pinterest trawl (my bad) we agreed on a look and settled on this design.  She was over the moon with it. I kinda liked it too, so I made a couple for my stash as well. Very quick, all scraps and very old stuff so I was OTM as well.

The desk this morning is, as I see Mary Anne has already described hers, clean but boring. But it's how I need it to be today. I tidied up last night as I have 3 commissions to get done for next week. They are all pretty different, not sure whether to start with the easiest one or the one that is needed first!!  I don't feel very inspired by any of them but maybe once I start pulling out bits I'll get in the groove.

A quick photo of the Christmas cards I was batch making last week, managed to do a few of these.

I love this fairly clean style - unfortunately I always seem to get black ink somewhere!!

Santa was not in the original design!!

With the rising cost of post I also like that they are flat!!

I went to Ally Pally on Sunday. Nothing like the old show but still made a pleasant day out and had a quick meet up with a friend. Really didn't buy much (my bank balance is very thankful) but fell in love with this rabbit stencil. I don't even particularly like rabbits (well I don't dislike them) but the samples kept calling me. Well, it'll be a while before I get around to using it. Knowing me I'll have completely forgotten why I wanted it by then!!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #666

Me again. Sorry for the absence, just life.

Here's the desk.

I am all set to do some batch cardmaking today along the lines of something I saw on pinterest, hence lavinia stamps and oxides are out. Christmas of course as I'm still ploughing through my stash though this will hopefully be a 'creative' one. The black basket at the back was previously full of half made cards etc (see last post!) - as you can see I have made quite a dent!! Have had to keep stopping for commissions - the latest was a wedding card for my decorator to give to his wife on their wedding day. Can't really post it yet just in case, however unlikely she is to see it but it did involve using these guys. So a tick against the NBU box.

Decorating the hall is all finished, have also spruced up the porch and now want to make plans for the living room before my attention switches to the garden. It's looking hopeful, but I'm still resisting going out in the cold.

Also managed to have the first meeting of my 'crop' a couple of weeks ago. It went really well - there was a lot of pent up chatting to get through!! We made this card. We had 8 in total and I am expecting a bigger turnout this month. We ended up meeting in the pub - a rather strange venue but seemed to work and nearly everyone stayed for lunch!!

Writing this it strikes me that it is all a bit trite given the current global situation. However I'm tired of holding my breath waiting for the world to get back to normal.
I need these small wins and plans in order to get up in the morning. I wish things were better everywhere but all I can do is hope things will improve as without that, well we might as well all stay in bed. Some people of course don't even have that luxury.

Happy WOYWW, Stay well, stay safe,
love n hugs
