What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? WOYWW#482

It is Wednesday isn't it? These Bank Holidays play havoc with my timeline. Anyhow, here's my desk this week.

To explain, we are having (yet) more work done which required rummaging around and moving stuff. Found this pretty large mosaic under my bed. Probably been there at least 10 years. Finally decided to finish it off. It was going to go outside but can't be bothered faffing around getting a piece of marine ply cut to size (that'll be another 10 years) so just gonna go for it onto a bit of bog standard  MDF I have lying around. As you can possibly see it's lost a few bits and although I have extra tiles I can't find my nippers. (Also no longer sure I have the strength to use them). So a little bit of improvisation may be required. So that's the project. Watch this space!!

Why am I telling you this? And what is WOYWW? Well, this is our weekly cruise around the work desks of the great and good, checking out what's new and what peeps are up to. Hosted by the lovely Julia of Stamping Ground. Hop on over and check it out. Join in. We don't bite. Happy Wednesday.

The Kraft Project

I have had another blog for a while, supposedly to showcase my cards etc from a slightly business viewpoint - to be honest I'm not sure that it is very different to this one and suffers from about the same amount of neglect!! But there is probably some musing I would do here on my personal blog rather than there.

However, given that I haven't yet worked out how to post to two blogs, I'm adding a link here
Today I am blogging some work with alcohol inks.

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday #479

Popping in. Been consistently AWOL again for weeks.

All current commitments met. Feeling organised (it'll never last). Empty desk as have tidied prior to playtime - and look what I have to play with!!

Recent news, I have become a docrafts demonstrator, so  that has kept me busy.

Also still doing my craft club and workshops.

Here's what we made last Saturday.
Great fun.

Why am I telling you this? Well it's Wednesday, a day for a quick look at the desks of the great and the good. Hosted by the lovely Julia, at The Stamping Ground. Pop on over and check it out.

Happy Wednesday.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday#474

Back after a short break - been very busy!! BUT, after cancelling a couple of classes because so many people were on holiday or couldn't cope with the heat, I suddenly had a free day yesterday - no deadlines, no classes to prep, no builders, no housework.... well, there's always housework but who cares?

So had a great day yesterday, playing but also spent some time outside enjoying a beautiful day.

Here's my rather painty desk after a couple of hours de-stressing.

And the project I am making. Still needs palm trees and some accessories but it's just sooooo cute.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

WOYW?W - 9th Anniversary

Well it’s here! Happy Anniversary everyone!!

Well this will be short, as I am on me holibobs and have to use my phone. Nightmare!!so apologies for any gibberish and typos. Ok, well you might think holiday? Oh no desk. But in fact I am in a lovely little cottage in the Cotswolds with my mum and sister having our very own crafty retreat. We have turned the conservatory into our very own craft room and its been a hive of activity.

Ok phone has decided we will have to without picture, but if you have the capability and inclination here is a link to them on Facebook. I will try to work out how to add them but for now this is the best I can do.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday # 467

Morning all! Once again it's Wednesday (wonder how many times I've writen that) and time for our weekly deskhop courtesy of Julia at Stamping Ground. Read about it, join in, we don't bite (!)

My desk:-

Cards to the right are from Tuesday's craft class. I need to make up the extras and then put it all away. Little suitcases are samples from my next class - just can't stop making these, they are so quick to put together. I actually dug out my bind it all to make a little album to fit in one of them. ou will be forgiven for thinking this was a little posed - I was halfway through tidying up the craft room when I remembered it was Tuesday and time to take a photo before there was nothing to snap. So this desk had been done. In case you think I am a reformed character here's the other one.

I have no idea how I work like this. Anyhow, would love it if you could come for a visit, will try and get round as many as possible today as it's a bit of free time for me today - huh, heard that before.

And let's not forget next week is the 9th anniversary Swap! Last call for ATC swaps! After going through my comments I think I have swaps set up with Nikki C, Annie, Neet, Kyla, Kelly, Sarah, Suzanne and of course Shaz. I cannot remember who I have actually swapped addresses with but I'll sort that this morning. Might even make my ATCs today, you never know.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #465

Mornin' deskers!! Here's my desk.

Have just been working out projects for next week's class. These navy and white die cut layers are coming along nicely. Towards the back you can see some cards we made at class yesterday - deconstructed zig zags!! A really fun and effective technique. Just need to finish those off. A nearly finished card using up some heartfelt creations papers. At the back you can just see a little suitcase - that's another project for half term I need to finalise, been wandering around my desk area for weeks. So that's me. Feeling a lot better yesterday and today, the old arthritic aches and pains are easing off. So it's a house day. Need to catch up with all those horrid chores. OH will be back today, he has been to Helsinki celebrating Vapu (?) aka Mayday. I believe a lot of fizz is involved. Can't have him thinking I haven't moved from my craft desk for two days........

Why am I telling you this? Well hop on over to  WOYWW HQ at Stamping Ground where you can find out all about it. Oh, and if you are in the running for an anniversary swap do let me know. I shall actually be away in the cotswolds so will need to be a bit organised this year. Well, there is always a first  time for everything they say...... Happy Wednesday

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #464

Morning all. Have only just realised it's Wednesday, and time for another deskhop courtesy of The Stamping Ground. Check it out for more details!

OK, desk still littered from bits n bobs from yesterday's craft class. I usually try to sort it all in the afternoon but I was so knackered yesterday I went to bed so it's still all here.. Getting old I guess!

For some reason I decided we would try image transfers - not my most inspired choice of technique to demo I must admit. But, they gave it a go, and three of the ladies used theirs on a card. But I got the distinct impression they would rather not do it again!! You can see my original sample back centre and a couple of others I did that need to be made up into cards. AFTER I've unpacked the rest of the bags.

So that's that. Have a good Wednesday!!
Cindy

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday WOYWW #463

Wednesday again! and only a handful of weeks till the 9th anniversary and ATC swap! I shall be swapping extra ATCs so do contact me if you are interested.
9th anniversary of what I hear you ask? Well hop on over to The Stamping Ground the home of WOYWW, read all about it and join in!

So, this week's desk. I need to finish off some off this stuff in my to do pile. (A different pile to the WIP box which rarely gets a visit). I've spread it out so it looks a bit more interesting - remnants from classes and playing that need to get made into a card or 'filed' away.Still need to do the cover of that ATC book.  Couple of hours should get that done. I'll be round to visit but might not be till later. Got some work to do on my 'other' desk that will keep me away from the pc today

Happy Wednesday!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday # 462

Morning Deskers! Home today, everyone is out until late, no visitors expected, no need to go out. Sounds like a crafty day with a bit of deskhopping to me.

I went to Ally Pally at the weekend. The stash is already secreted away, you'd never know I'd bought a thing. I haven't however found a place to put these yet, the results of the 6 workshops I managed to fit in.

Here I have CASED a design by Sue Wilson, who very kindly explained how she made this card after I commented how much I liked her sample. Tried it out with my crafty ladies at class yesterday as well. They were very impressed with what they made!

I am finishing up another mini book which I am going to use to hold my ATCs from a monthly swap I'm in with the girls at UKPC. It's pretty busy, I used up some of the papers from my last gelli class.

I have lots of prep to get finished, but hope to get round to everyone today, I have failed miserably the last couple of weeks. Why am I telling you this? Because today's post is about the weekly WOYWW bloghop. It's easy to do and lots of stuff to look at. For more info and to join in go here.

Happy Wednesday.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday # 460

Well what a grey day, bit like my mood today! Anyhow, it's Wednesday, time for a bit of desk hopping with WOYWW via The lovely Julia's blog Stamping Ground. Check it out and join in why don't ya?

On my desk this week my (almost) finished holiday album. It's nothing special, just wanted to play with putting together the album and adding a few piccies but quite pleased with it. Now I understand the basics I shall try and do some 'pretty' ones. Hopefully quicker, as faffing about with the photos really held me up!!

Love this paper with the surfers. Lots of surfers where we go in Tenerife.

Wish I could see that view today.

As you can see I didn't really theme this album, just used up all sort of bright coloured papers . But I think it works.

Oh well, onwards and upwards. Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.
I need to make a 1st birthday card with a llama on it today, but before I can do anything else today I need to tidy up!

(Again).

Spring Is In The Air?

Had an unexpected day in the studio on Saturday as 'The Beast from The East' disrupted other plans.

Had so much fun playing with this cute die set to make this matchbox card I almost forgot about the snow.
Need to squeeze a bit of chocolate in there somewhere though!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #458

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for our weekly snoop around the work desks of the great and the good courtesy of our host Julia of Stamping Ground. Hop on over to join in with WOYWW why don't ya, we don't bite.

Hi all, I'm back from me hollibobs all ready and raring to go! Third wash is in the machine, I've been out for a long walk (trying to keep up all that walking we did when we were away), put in a tesco order for delivery tomorrow and tidied up the kitchen and dining room. Troops have all gone off to work, now for (more) ME time.

I watched a lot of u tubes on holiday so itching to have a play with my Eileen Hull Dies. I've nearly finished the suitcase (piccies to follow) but today I am going to have a play with this:-

I'm going to make a little holiday album from our trip while it is fresh in my mind - we have been there so many years we don't usually take many photos but I have just a few that would make a little mini album and I always work better at things when I know why I am making it.

So that's it, cuppa at the ready, I'm off! Happy WOYWW.

Waht's On your Workdesk (Chuckle) ? Wednesday #446

Morning all, hope you are all warm and safe this wintry Wednesday morning here in the UK. A perfect day for some virtual snooping courtesy of Julia Dunnit at Stamping Ground. Go on, join in why don't you!!

My  desk, and you would be forgiven for thinking there is some kind of Easter/Mother's Day vibe going on. Even a bit of Christmas!! In reality I just got round to unpacking the box to see what was there, maybe I'll get to that later in the week. The yellow card at the back is a bow card I made for my mum so that's done and dusted. Today I have no deadlines and no chores so its a play day. I  may do a little more tidying - all patterned and plain scraps have now been sorted into an orderly fashion and I've even been using them. Go me. Might finish that suitcase as I got a super set of stamps with one of my mags.

Will have to limit my pc today as I am having some real issues with my wrist at the mo - always something!!  I also seem to have developed tennis elbow (my diagnosis not GPs) so its probably best I'm here alone as I'm a bit of an old grumpy puss today. I think I need sunshine (and warmth!!)

Have a lovely Wednesday xx

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #455

Morning peeps. It's that time again when we grab a coffee and have a little browse round other people's desks. If you want to join in, the event is hosted by the lovely Julia Dunnit over at The Stamping Ground. It's easy to join in!!

Here's my desk Tuesday afternoon just as  I was reaching the losing-the-will-to-live stage. I had spent the whole day sorting out my sentiments. I don't know about you, but if I'm stamping or printing I tend to do a few. Plus all the shop bought ones.....Over time, there has been a bit of an explosion but I could never find what I wanted.
This is my box of Christmas sentiment that I finished sorting in the morning. Look at them all in their neatly labelled little packets!! I know I am very very sad but I can't tell you how good this makes me feel. I do like a little bit of order in my life. Christmas stash is still awaiting a checkover before I put it away. It never got done in January because I had the lurgy and I like to get it all sorted for next year before it gets returned to  the depths of my cupboard and make sure I have a good stash of cards done in advance. I think hubby is getting a  bit fed up with the boxes on the chest of drawers!
Mum and my sister came over Monday and we had a bash at one of those new dies. Here is my first one, the suitcase which my sister wanted to make. It isn't finished yet as I ended up helping them sort theirs out. We also attacked that WIP box - about 12 cards were made and I have a few ready to finish today. (And just look how tidy that desk is after all my hard work)

This last photo is a few mats I made using up scraps from the WIP box cut into strips. I even kept the scrap from one of  the mats when I trimmed it.  This also makes me happy. I hate throwing stuff away, I'm such a hoarder, there really is no hope.

Oh, and the ironing still isn't done. I'm actually debating whether to put it all back in the washing and start again.........

Have a great Wednesday!!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #454

It's quite clear actually, although I may have cunningly shown you the best bit. Finally seem to be catching up with life, classes and commissions.

Received these beauties on Monday and have been restraining myself from even opening the packaging until other stuff is done. Which it now is.

Today is a more or less at home day for me. I need to at least start that pile of ironing at some point - an iron has not been lifted in this house (by me) for over two months. Which does  kinda beg the question what is in that pile? But apart from that my obligations are few. And the rest of the week stretches ahead gloriously uncluttered by things I don't really want to do. Bliss.

I'm showing my desk as part of WOYWW a weekly blog hop hosted by the lovely Julia. Everyone is welcome.

So I'll be in and out today, nosing around and hoping my comments get through - I received a flurry of emails saying they hadn't last time, I'm not sure what all that was about but will try and check back this week.

Hopefully by next week I may have a little project to show you.

Now where to start?

Have a lovely Wednesday!!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday some number or other...

Huh. Been trying to add a picture since 9.30 am. In the end I emailed it to myself. This is why I no longer blog!!

Was it worth it? Not a lot to show, been gelli printing. Big box behind sapphire is in the WIP box. Haven't been in there for months. Plastic container to right are my prepped and to be prepped class projects. Empty cup of tea.

It is now 4.03pm (and still light lol). I probably won't get round anyone now, as I still haven't made OH's birthday card (for tomorrow), I've been faffing with this all day.
And I don't know yet if it will load, fingers crossed. But hopefully I made it guys! How you doing?
