What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #564

Well hello there, long time no see.
Happy WOYWW to all my dear desking friends - I hadn't realised I had been away so long but in my defence I was in Spain for the whole of February and couldn't get my ipad to play with blogger so gave up trying to join in. We had a wonderful 4 weeks, but with hindsight are so glad we went exactly when we did. A week or two later and we'd probably still be there and I'm not sure how that would have panned out!! Anyhoo, I am here to show you my desk this morning.

I have a big job on, it's fairly low key crafting, but I need to make a start on wedding invitations for my son's wedding even though I'm not sure when they will go out, although as it's planned for September I am hoping we are still on course for that. Hen night to Edinburgh sadly already cancelled. The original plan was to have a big get together with the bridesmaids and family females on both sides and have a fun evening making them up together and drinking vast quantities of prosecco. Obviously that can't happen now so I'm getting on with it on my own. At least the prosecco stockpiling may come in handy.
Consequently I have a big pile of kraft card on my desk and the first job will be to create 50 centre fold cards. Something I could do whilst wandering through WOYWW desks I thought though the garden is calling and it's another lovely day. Hoping I'll get the urge to do some messy crafting very soon but at the moment I seem focussed on tidying and cleaning and finishing things off!!

Why am I telling you this? Because it's WOYWWednesday, the day when we go for a wander around the desks of the great and the good courtesy of the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground. Pop on over and join in why don't ya?

Happy desking!!

Hi Cindy. You certainly did get back from Spain just at the right time! All the very best with the wedding invites - yes, hopefully by then there will be a semblance of normality and the wedding date will go ahead as planned!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

It's too nice to craft today - I've been commenting whilst in and out of the garden. Though it's quite breezy here, lovely in the shelter out of the wind. You were so lucky to get back before the lockdown, my brother and SiL just got back from Costa Rica in time as well. We're doing ok here, the days are flying by actually, time is whizzing!

Hi Cindy, nice to see you. It was indeed good you went on holiday when you could. We had just started thinking about where we'd go this year when this virus started to surface, so holidays are on hold for the foreseeable future! What a shame you've had to cancel the group wedding invite making, I'm sure that would have been great fun. Stay safe,Have a good week, Huge hugs, Shaz #1 X

I see you are taking good advantage of the lockdown situation to get on with the wedding cards, Cindy! I look forward to seeing what you do with all that craft card. I do hope the wedding goes ahead OK. It must be so worrying for couples in the planning stage, not knowing whether it's going to happen or not...

Stay safe and well, and happy WOYWW,

Oh Cindy, what is your address, I could be down in a tick (essential visit) to make a dent in that Prosecco. I love Prosecco! I am sure you could be forgiven for having a glass or two to cheer you up during these hard times.
I do hope the wedding can go ahead, it is hard not knowing how these things are going to be so far ahead and what a disappointment it must be for the young folks.
Glad you got back safe and sound from your holiday, lots of lovely memories to think about.
Take care

Hi Cindy, pleased you got back okay. Were in France two weeks ago and came home the weekend that they shut all the ski resorts. As we were coming down the mountain there were still people going up but I believe most of them got a flight back by the following Tuesday. Looks like you've got plenty to keep you busy anyway. Take care, keep safe and craft on. Sending hugs, Angela x3x

Hi again, Cindy, and thank you for your return visit. I'm glad you like my Celtic knots. This is the first lot I've coloured using the iPad. I drew them by hand initially, and then scanned them into the computer and tidied them up a bit, and printed out several sheets of them so I could experiment with different methods of colouring. Mostly so far I've been using my new Tombow dual markers but wanted to experiment using the Procreate app on the iPad. This is an awesome art app - using the Apple Pencil you have a huge choice of different pens and brushes and you can also work in layers. A lot of artists are now using this app, and it's very popular and user-friendly too. I like to keep digital copies of my line art so I can colour it in different ways and print it out for card toppers etc., a bit like digital stamps, I suppose.

I'm so glad you have had so little trouble shopping online. Initially I had a terrible time, with things not being available, and the slots are still as rare as hen's teeth. Fortunately I have a wonderful hubby who doesn't mind popping out to get the stuff we need and he reports that the shelves seem to be pretty well stocked now. Like you, the one thing I haven't had to worry about is loo paper. I have always bought it in bulk when it's on offer. There's plenty of room in the bottom of the airing cupboard to store it, and recently I topped up the supplies, which was good timing! My hubby bought 3 enormous rolls of blue paper towels from B&Q in case we ran out but I think that's unlikely - also I'm not sure if that blue stuff is flushable! I shall probably have to invent some craft use for it, and maybe start a new trend! We both get through a fair bit of loo paper - especially me with Kermit (my stoma) and my hubby has diverticular disease too, and an increasingly weak bladder (join the club) - all symptoms of dreaded old age creeping up on us! We are both trying to ration ourselves a bit at the moment, though, just in case the shortage carries on in the shops.

So glad you enjoyed seeing the kitties. I think they are very pleased to have my hubby around so much at the moment (as am I) - he's usually out and about a lot. They are quite oblivious to anything else going on that's out of the ordinary, though.

Hugs,
Shoshi x

Well it sounds like you've got lots to keep you busy during this lock down - I do hope the wedding goes ahead. Excellent timing on getting back from Spain, now you can happily reminisce during these rather difficult times ahead.
Stay safe and well,

I much prefer Proseco stockpiling than toilet paper. Always good to make the wedding invites ... one never knows how things could change within a blink of an eye. Stay safe and keep crafting.

I enjoyed your long stay in Spain vicariously...your timing was immaculate, however much luck was involved! Sure helps make the winter shorter if you can get away before `spring doesn’t it,. I’ve done tidying too, believe it or not...am considering window cleaning now. But only considering for now, Good luck with the invitation work, it’s a right old labour of love. Of course. I agree about the stockpiled Prosecco; i think the girls need to promise themselves a similar occasion after the wedding, swap photos and stories...the bride misses quite a lot of what’s going on on the day, so it might be a fun thing for her! Meanwhile, I’ve seen your garden on FB...my word its beautiful. Mine nay calls for work to be done in it and I seem to largely be deaf to it. I like it tidy but I don’t wanna do it!!

Just a crazy world right now. It sure would be hard to plan a wedding. Even my mother's funeral was set for June 22nd and we are now wondering if that's too soon. ONLY 8 people can attend. even at the cemetery And we set June with winter travel hazards they come form East and West coasts. SO travel was bad., Well we are in a worse situation now. Glad to be crafting and cleaning, but we need sunshine here. SO Dark/wet/rainy/damp...not good for health or attitude. No green grass or flowers yet. Stay safe,

Hi Cindy what a relief that you managed to get back from Spain before the lock down now you can concentrate on those invites a labour of love indeed but a blessing that you are well and able to make them. What luck with your stock pile of prosecco as even alcohol is rationed now. I'm sure we'd all help you make a dent in it, even the Tee totallers during these uncertain times. Take care & stay safe & enjoy your crafty time in and out of the garden. Tracey #19 x
