What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #788

Morning deskers, welcome to our weekly Wednesday Blog Hop WOYWW which is now being hosted at Sarah Brennan's blog. Here's the link for that lovely lady - Sarah's Craft Shed - pop on over and join in, see what it's all about and join in yourself.

Here's my desk:

Yes, I am that sad person who writes when they last re-inked their ink pads.
But I am pleased to report I have been doing some crafting that wasn't a card.  This is for a (very overdue) swap for someone I'm pretty sure has no idea about WOYWW so I'm taking a chance and posting because there is diddly squat else here to shout about.

Sorry to have been away but the last couple of weeks I was getting a bit overwhelmed (mainly with fun things to do so don't get all concerned for me) and unfortunately something had to give!!

Still haven't resolved the weird photo saving/uploading problem but for now I have found a work around. Resolving it will have to wait until I have time (ie never) or when the workaround stops working,

Have a great week,
Love n Hugs Cindyxx

She is so adorable! Sometimes it's good to just get away from the computer and do something different, we all need a rest some times. Have a good woyww. Hugs Angela x10x

You’re not sad re the ink pad dates, that seems very sensible to me and exactly the sort of thing that I wish I could remember to do!! Glad you’ve been having a fun busy time, where is the year going to? Love the Japanese Lady, she is beautiful and the colours are wonderful. She’s so much nicer than a present my dear departed MiL once gave me, a porcelain figure of a kneeling Geisha that you could wind up and the song Japanese Boy played…..lovely woman, terrible taste in gifts. I won’t tell you about the globe containing a yellow plastic rose that also could be wound up and played The Yellow Rose of Texas! Or about the rotating cruet set…I could go on but there’s only so much time!

I'm laughing at Jan's comment above about the gifts from MIL! Isn't it lovely how our visits can spark memories for us and then that in turns sparks conversation for others?! Your geisha is absolutely stunning and I thought it would make an amazing card but not sure how it would go in the envelope! I don't use my inks enough to re-ink them but I would totally add that to my crafty spreadsheet if I did! Have a great week, Lisa-Jane #11

It is good some times to put things like when you reinked a pad and treat your blog a bit like a diary. It serves as a document to look back on and see when things were done and how they lasted. Hope that makek,s uou feel bnetter.
BUT ... the Geisha lady is beautiful. What a fabulous project that is. I love the colour and the backcloth looks intriguing.

Well I've NEVER reinked an inkpad in my life LOL. Absolutely love your Japanese doll so gorgeous. To answer your question about the tiresome page it was the one with many reiterations WILDLIFE. First it had the cards and some lovely collage to which I added pink paint then blue and gesso but didn't like it so added a lot of green and hated it more so covered with clay coloured paint which was horrid so gesso and coffee it was. Shame to cover some of the collage and or page papers but there you go. I still have photos of the journey!!

Your lady was the first thing I spotted! She brilliant! Was she easy to make? Yes, blogger did go back to the 'old' way of loading your pictures for a couple of days. Yay!! then it went back to this cloud thing, but at least its working for me at the moment. I spent weeks going round the houses to post my pictures because I could only add them to the blog via 'photos' and could only open'photos' via email. madness! Have a great week, Thank you for your visit, Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) #14

Ooh the Japanese lady is gorgeous - what beautiful paper, I love the blossoms on teal. Re-inking ink pads is something I have so far never had to do - I have bottles of ink for all my Stampin Up pads and ColorBox Chalk pads but they just seem to keep going and I've had them for years and years. Saying that I bet one runs out on me shortly!
Hope you have a good week,

I love the Japanese doll - I'm sure worth the wait! I think putting the date last inked on your ink pads is brilliant! Will have to steal that idea! Have a wonderful week! Lindart #17

Hello Cindy, love the Japanese lady. She quite took me back 64 years, to my first year at secondary school, and to the first project I was given to make in the Art Appreciation class - a Japanese kimono clad doll. Looking back, I think our art teacher was very brave and a tad over ambitious giving that as our first project! Suffice to say, my doll was nowhere as good as your lady. Have a good week. Just put the granddaughters on the train to go home and now away for the weekend to look after Ollie while his Mum and Dad go to a wedding. Fortunately the holiday cottage has internet,,,

Wow. She is spectacular. Love love love it. I am not sure I have ever reinked my ink pads LOL! Some are a little dry if I'm honest so maybe I should consider it... :D :D
Late, but determined to get around!
