What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #292

Happy  New Year Deskers. First deskhop of 2015 – now how did that happen? Lots of things in my head as we start the New Year – will they actually be made into reality? We’ll see!!

Anyhow, here is my desk this week. Dominated by that new purchase - the Scan n Cut.

I never thought I would move onto an electric machine but I am so enamoured of the whole concept now that I have got it that I am cutting everything in sight. Before Christmas I had a hankering for a pennant die. Which I didn’t purchase when I decided to get the SnC. So yesterday evening I spent a couple of hours playing and cutting pennants out of my scraps with the machine. I got a little carried away. I think this has a lot more potential than one set of dies, sizewise. (I’m rationalising again). Anyway there are a few q & s cards I laid out last night on the desk. Thought I’d wait to check the colours in daylight - such as it is - before gluing.

Here are a few I did already. Using up ‘bits’ as usual, makes me feel very virtuous. It’s all scraps.

Anyhow, not to go on at length, if you want to know what WOYWW is go here. Leave me a comment and I’ll return the favour. Just nose about and I may drop in on you anyway, you know how it goes.

But do have a great day.

I know what you mean about ideas n your head not always going anywhere, I have those too.
I keep looking at the Scan n Cut but still have a working Cricut!

Does the Scan and Cut do fabric as well or is it just for paper? That would make my life easier cutting out letters for bunting but I can't justify one just for that! Like the cards you've made, very smart indeed.
The map was one of my fav prezzies this Christmas, it's a proper OS map, so thoughtful of my mate!

Oh new toys! I just went and looked at the web site for the Scan N Cut.....ouch! Since I still have a working Cricut, also, I will have to wait on the Scan N Cut until later..... (I hope) cause I really want one NOW!!

Thanks for visiting Betsy and me this week, and for the comment on my hair.......it's so nice to no longer worry about getting it colored all the time. grin

Have fun, can't wait to see what else your going to be making with your new toy!

You lucky girl! (I have a CraftRobo that I never use so I cannot justify another big expense)But this new 'toy' will save you a lot of money if you're using all your scraps. And think of all the money you will be saving on punches!
Your cards are lovely by the way.
I didn't know you did an art draw. Those tags are so beautiful.... Please tell me how to enter....
Thank you for visiting and commenting on my page earlier,
Have a good week,

I first saw that Scan and Cut on a PBS show in the US. I was impressed, but can't really afford anything like that. Looks like Santa was VeRY good to you, because all these cards, made from scraps, are over the top GORGEOUS.

Happy belated New Year and happy WOYWW from # 2. And thanks, too for the earlier visit.

I never thought I'd be interested in an electronic machine either but never say never. I'm still not interested but you just never know. You are having fun with yours for sure and I certainly see the potential for them. I love that yo are using up scraps--and making awesome cards to boot! Judy #70

I will just have to stick with the dye cut as I have no space for more tools. Looks fun and wow what productivity!

Hi Cindy, thanks for the visit. I had to grin when you said you never thought you would have an electric die-cutting machine. I always thought dies were not my thing and now I have loads and they work really well with the other techniques I love to use. Guess it's just a state of mind and a bit of adjustment to the way we do things. Happy crafting, Angela x 39

That looks like a serious bit of Cindy, like what you've done with it so far.

I don't think I said thank you for the lovely Christmas card you sent me, so thank you - also for the pretty Christmas pop up flower which I had displayed.

Happy New Year to you xx

I have a Cricut and a Silhouette, but the scan n cut sounds very interesting. Don't think I will be able to justify getting one though. Love the cards you made. Good for you, using up all those scraps.
Happy WOYWW!

It seems everyone I know has an electronic cutter, while I still putter around with my Big Shot, lol! Dies are quite expensive though. I think I would be over my head and frustrated with them. Your cards look fantastic! :D

Happy Crafting!

Fab gift. I have to say the ability to cut many different sizes, and JUST the one you need, is the biggest advantage of machines over dies. Having it always one and ready to cut is a big part of it, to be sure. I love your penants and they will be SO CUTE on so many projects. Like circles, I don't think they can be overdone :)

Happy First WOYWW of 2015!

Ooh new toy! I do love these machines and my gadget geek part of me is shouting I NEED ONE, but the sensible strict finance part of me is saying no. I have a Ebosser you see. Not the same. I know. I don't actually use many dies in my crafting. Perhaps one day I will get a digital thing who knows. Enjoy playing! Hope you are ok, Happy New Year my friend. Take care Zo xx 45

Hi Cindy,
Your new toy looks quite impressive! I could see where a banner die would be very fun and useful. The cards you made look great.

I will definitely put your name in the hat for a calendar. Thank you for visiting me already!
