What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday # 740

Good Morning All!!  Welcome to our weekly Wednesday Blog Hop - WOYWW. Here's the link to the one responsible, the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground - pop on over and join in, see what it's all about and join in yourself.

Wednesday again. and here we are well in to August and what a damp old week it has been!! Have spent a bit of time at my desk and even had a neighbour come over to make a wedding card - there is just about room in my new 'studio' to fit a guest as long as you don't need to unearth anything from the depths of the storage sytem!! Anyhoo here's my desk this week.

Glorious isn't it? This is what happens when I am trying to find something. I was looking for vintagey collage scraps to make one of the Fodder Challenge Projects and realised my collection was a bit muddled. So I had to stop and tidy it. The detritus on the desk (other than the project) is the stuff that now needs a different home so I have a chance of finding it again. Getting there, but 20 years or so on since I started this collection it's hard to hold it all in my head. Of course not only was I younger 20 years ago, but there was a lot less of it!! Still loving my uppy-downy desk, makes it so much easier on my back and I'm not sitting all the time.

Here's the finished project, they have 'floating' sentiments embossed on acetate. I felt very out of practice doing this type of collage but happy with a couple of them - I did nail the acetate bit even though you may be unable to actually see that!!

A quiet morning for me here then a trip over to see little Lionel this afternoon (It's been nearly a week!!) who has apparently mastered the art of rolling back to front on purpose. (He has done it a  few times by accident!!) Five months old today - hardly seems possible!  Yes, I'll give him a squish for you Jan.

Have a lovely creative week,

Love n hugs,

Cindyxx

Nothing better than spending time holding a baby - gosh is it five months already since he was born? Makes one realise how quickly time passes.
Love the collages. You've certainly not lost it as you have made some beauties there. I look back at my old work and think how much better I was then than I am now. I thought you were supposed to improve with age?
Glad your uppy downy desk is helping with the back problems.
Have a wonderful week but make this afternoon last with Lionel.
Hugs, Neet 5 xx

Oh you did well with the floating quotes! I like the idea, but I don't have a project in mind for that....yet. Lovely baby cuddles are the best. Cannot WIAT till I get to be a granny LOL! Hope I am not waiting too long... Maybe I need an uppy-down desk, my back give me gyp all the time. Not sure how I would wedge it in but sounds like a nice idea.
Happy desk-hopping day!

Your desk is about the size of my patch on the floor. I laughed at your comment about the 20 years in your head.. that's my storage system too and it doesn't work so well either !! Happy woyww Helen #4

Yes I totally understand the 'looking' for 1 small thing in a desk just like that. And I love your projects. Great depth and colors. Oh yes this time goes faster with little ones and enjoy all that cuddle time...2 of mine are now in COLLEGE??? the other 4 are TOO busy on their ipads or whatever and schools starting around the 20th ....time waits for no one. ENJOY a great week

I loved my virtual squish, thank you!! Well done Lionel, I love it when they learn to do things like rolling, they look so surprised the first time it happens, lol! I think you’ve mastered the collages, they’re amazing - wish I could do it, I have tried but it never seems to work out. The detritus on your desk is spectacular - if you can remember where all that goes in its new place, that’ll be an achievement!!

Good morning, Cindy.
Before I go any farther, if I didn't thank you before, consider this my Thank You for the lovely ATC. Took me a few weeks (with the help of other deskers) to tell me who made the ATC. I couldn't read your signature LOL.

Okay... Love the pieces you have there and I do love a messy desk. Means you've been playing and that's always a good thing!

Creative Blessings! ~Kelly #20

Babies do go so quickly and before you know it they are toddlers. I have a niece that had twins a year ago and they are walking and it is on! At my age I love to hold them and play and then hand back to Momma!

Sometimes we have to tidy our work spaces. I love those pens you have (I have none). Your colkages are wonderful. You did a great job on that Alison Bomber lesson. These collages are stunning and fabulous, Cindy. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

Oh you can give him a squish from me too, love babies!!!
Not entirely sure I know what a uppy-downy desk is but I guess you can either sit or stand at it.
Your floating quote quartet are superb. I was digging stuff out to do mine too. Some stuff had not seen the light of day for 10+years or more. One embossing powder didn't smell too good, need to sort that drawer out, and have since found some more embossing powders so might do an acetate embossing thing soon, sure one could fit on my scripture cards one day aswell. Did you sign up for the Fodder School or are you just doing the challenges by memory/notes?
As for scrapping, it is my "diary" of photos in the main, like I used to just put in sticky back albums (have those from 2003 and before back to when I started it all when I was 17yrs old as I had got sick of mother's card board box of photos). I guess it is either your "thing" or it isn't. Don't fret over it. Hugs BJ#7

Loving your collaged cards they look great, I'm starting to wish I'd followed the Fodder challenge now. I looked at it at the beginning but just had other things to occupy me. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x11x

Great collages. Is your desk height adjustable? I didn’t do the floating quote idea as I don’t have any acetate with me. Have fun with Lionel x Angela #21
