What’s on Your Workdesk? Wednesday #278

Morning Deskers!! Happy WOYWW!! Finally made it, been a hectic few weeks with holidays, work and getting ready for my Macmillan Open House. Which went very well, we made £300 on the day so I was very pleased.

But back to business, here’s how to find out about WOYWW and here’s my desk:

Empty I know but my craft room was all tidied up for Monday because I put all the things for sale in here. All that is out is the little bit of decoupage I cut out last night while watching tv. The little flower pop pot is there because someone asked me to customise one with a special message. Here is the collection I made for sale – I  think they are so cute!

Didn’t sell many, so don’t look too close you may get one………

And can you see the little christmas tree? Made that last night playing with some new 6x6 papers…. (well I felt I deserved some retail therapy yesterday after all that hard work…. I’ll post a proper picture of those when I’ve finished a couple more.

Also wanted to flag this up – FLOOD THE STREET WITH ART. I was sent an invite by Kay Parke. Now, I haven’t been about much the last couple of weeks so you  may all have seen it already but it’s an interesting idea and I think I’ll join in – maybe you will too? Haven’t decided what I might do yet, maybe ATCs (I have quite a few ready anyhow, I’ll just change the backing on the back).

As I was about to finish writing this have just heard the sad news regarding Alice Gross, a local teenager who has been missing for a month. Gutted. We were all hoping and praying. The whole area is covered in yellow ribbons. Hold those you love especially close to you today and count your blessings. My heart goes out to that poor family. Cindy x

wow - I agree they are just so cute, can't believe you didn't sell many. But the buying public is so unpredictable.

Happy WOYWW!

Sales in the art world is so unpredictable. Your cards look lovely.
have a great week. My key board is on the fritz and the 'a' and 'l' are temperamental.

Terrible news about Alice, I was following that on BBC News, it's the only news channel I look at. Love the cute flower pots and can't believe they didn't all sell, great total you raised though.

OMG those flowers are brilliant I love them all, seriously send them down here. You can never know what the public do and don't want, finicky they are sometimes and other times they will purchase bandaids because it's trendy. I do hope you have a wonderful week and happy crafting. Thanks for visiting already.

Ooh, Cindy, I love those flowers in the reels, they're so cute! I love the scribbled effect of the flowers...why didn't they sell then? I'd have bought some! Btw, well done on the amount you raised, that's an awesome amount :-)

I am joining in with the Flood and featured it on my blog a while ago - I think it is an excellent idea. You could leave one of those 'reel flowers' - I am sure that would be snatched up in a tick - they are adorable.
Well done you anyway, what a lovely lot of money you raised for a worthwhile charity. Good on you girl!

Hugs, Neet 34 (thanks for visiting me)

Hi Cindy, I can't think why you didn't sell more of those flowers - they are fabulous, they ought to have been snapped up!

The news about Alice is so sad and particularly devastating for her parents.

Have a great week. Elizabeth x #51

Well done with your fundraising, that's a great total! Sorry I had to go to work and wasn't able to come along! I love your flower pots and think Neet has a good idea, you could use that as your Flood item - I read about it somewhere but not sure what I could make to leave. Helen 5

A great result with your open house - well done. Lovely flowers and mini Christmas tree.
Yes, terrible news regarding Alice. May each one of you that knew her or live near her know God's arms around you bringing His comfort on this sad day and into the next days.
Take care. God bless.

Lovely flowers and gorgeous cards.
I heard about them finding the girls body, it's just awful that you can be taken like that, the family must be in shock.
Good luck with selling the rest of your flowers.
Thanks for visiting me, Angela x 39

Hi Cindy! Those flowers are super cute! They look especially nice when they are in a group. It's like a whimsical garden! I'm so inspired to make my own! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #78

Gorgeous card, Cindy, and as for those flowers, they are simply gorgeous! They are particularly good as a group too. Funny how people won't buy things... I got thoroughly demoralised at a craft show I took part in once, and even did demos etc. It took ages setting it all up, and I sold 9 cards. Duh. Never again!
