What's on your Workdesk, Wednesday? # 169

Weddings. Yep still doing those celebration commissions.

Regular visitors will note I have a new covering for my desk - the crazy Noah's Ark design was befuddling my poor old brain so now have gone for a plain black. Makes me feel more in control anyway and easier to see little bits. Unless they are black of course.
This isn't a commission card, just using up a stamped image and I'm going to finish it off with two dangly hearts which are crrently drying.

When I was asked to make wedding cards there were two designs I wanted to try out.

First I wanted to use this gorgeous LOV stamp and here is the card I made for my friend. It's a bit more traditional than the one on my desk!!

I was asked to make two cards for the same couple so I needed to ring the changes and decided to use a car template from Anna Marie Designs. I saw Anna Marie demonstrate using this template a while ago and have always wanted to use it on a card. Not very original I know, but I put my own slant on it by making it into a twisted easel.

I cut the template out on white card and coloured with distress inks.and I'm afraid I only used ready made flowers. But the box worked out just fine for a change!!

After finuishing these I had a sudden panic attack thinking the LOV image might not be appropriate so I made a third card in a more traditional white on white style. Unfortunately can't show that as camera has died, maybe tomorrow!!

So why am I rabbitting on about desks and what's on them? Hop on over to The Stamping Ground and read all about it. It's an international desky show n tell that occurs every Wednesday. Be there or be square. LOL, Cinds

Hi Cindy. A busy workspace. Black both looks good and sounds good to me. Mine is white and so gets covered in mats or scrap paper to help keep it at least a little clean.
Great Wedding cards. I love all three, especially the traditional design.
The car is a great idea too and would have been perfect done in an orange and baby blue colour scheme for my brother in laws Civil Ceremony next week. They are travelling in their orange car. It's not easy to design a card suitable for 2 grooms to be but I have managed to find a stamp to make one. Must load it onto my blog. Angy xx

I actually wondered about that with people who have heavily patterned table cloths or the like under their work space. I would think it would make your brain all jumbled up, so I applaud the black background.

I think the twisted easel card with the just married card is just super fabulous! The LOTV card is very nice too but the other one is so striking.

Hi Cindy,
the cards are beautiful, nothing better than making wedding cards and as much as I love the LOTV image I don't possess it!

I can't work on a patterned background either! So it's a plain white table for sewing and a black felt cloth for beading!
Love both your cards but especially the second one, that's so cute :D

I couldn't figure out what was different when I first clicked on your blog and then once I read your post my mind said "yup, you aren't crazy something is different".

Oh Cindy, I love the wedding cards. I have not made any wedding cards but these sure make me want to give it a try. Oh and there is nothing wrong with ready made flowers. They look pretty girl.

Have a great week and come play when you are free.

I really like all of the wedding cards. Don't you just hate that the camera battery always dies at the most inappropriate times? You would think it would have the good sense to just hang in there for a few more seconds!! LOL
Happy very belated WOYWW!
