September Giveaway - Slide Mailer

what I hear you cry, posting a giveaway before he end of the month? Whatever next!!

Well that's it, a summery altered slide mailer conceived when I thought we were going to have a summer. Don't know about you, but I've had a winter woollie on today and I will be wearing full winter regalia to go to bed tonight. Brrrrr!!!!

Anyhow, this is a bit of summery nostalgia for you. Usual rules apply, if you want to play leave a comment on this post before 9.00 pm on Friday 30th September. Feel free to link from your own blogs, international players welcome.

I am off to Sunny Spain in a couple of days, so I won't be about much for the next week (nothing new there you say). BUT, BIG NEWS..... the new pc arrives tomorrow (yes it has taken an age) so hopefully I will be able to get everything working properly and get back on the net a bit more. I have missed you all so much!!

JUST TO SAY SORRY.....

for not being about. I have had a really bad virus on the pc which keeps blocking me from everything google related - yep, makes it pretty impossible to do most things!! So I just haven't been bothering to come on line lately as it means using someone else's pc and it just all gets too tedious..... Still, I have a new machine coming so hope to be back on line properly soon. Haven't uploaded the August giveaway yet so I think I'll leave it this month. I'll upload a new giveaway for next month at the end of August just before I go on holiday so it can run while I'm away (I hope anyhow!!!). Have also been really busy with mum and work (kids summer holidays are a killer with events every week) and just haven't had the time or drive to get it sorted out.

So thanks everyone for your best wishes - and Sussie - I loved the postcard!! Off out now, I have to go and dig up some buried treasure lol.

Here she goes again.....

Well that was a week and a half!! Mum got rushed in to hospital last Wednesday with suspected appendicitis. They duly whipped it out on Friday, and she came home late Saturday but days and late nights at the hospital on top of working left me pretty whacked!! Then we had the joys of the London riots... Ealing is a couple of miles away from our house and we had our own local hooligans who had a go (unsuccessfully) at a couple of local shops and businesses - everything shut down early afternoon on Tuesday on police advice (including the PO which was a bit of a pain as it was the only time I could get there this week!!) but it stayed pretty calm as far as I could see, and hopefully the worst is over.

Anyhoo got a bit of crafting done this morning before work, just this little tag which I will be putting in for 'Try it on Tuesday'. About time I entered something!!

And the July winner is.....

SUSSIE!!!! I have your addy so will post out Friday. Thanks for playing!!

Now you may have noticed that I am a bit late posting.... well the pc saga goes on. We have finally decided that the basic problem is google, I have somehow got a redirect bug attached to google on my machine. Trying to fix that over the weekend we managed at one stage to lose everything and had a dead pc (heart stopping moment that isn't it) but stirling efforts on the part of my OH mean that I have pretty much everything back - AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T HAVE A LINK TO GOOGLE. Go figure. I am writing this on my OHs pc as I just cannot sign in to blogger from mine, it just will not do it. (I do use a google account/ID so that's probably why so there might be a way to get in with another ID - depending how I set it up? Think I can remember - naaah) And I can't get on to google no how, no way. It is really weird!!!!!

What we did discover when trying to restore the pc however is that lots of stuff on it is so old it is not supported anymore and it was a real fag to reload all the updates etc etc (I am trying to sound like I have a clue what was going on but Naaah, I don't) so it seems the best thing would be to upgrade. Yay!!! I have given OH a budget and instructions to get the best he can. At least I won't be wasting so much time looking at a blank screen!!

I Made some Art!!

Well a card and a few ATCs. And a couple of things I can't show you yet. I started the ATCs about 10 days ago.... story of my life really as I am sure you are very, very bored of hearing. Anyhow these are all for trade if anyone is interested.

Just had one of those days when everyone b******* off and left me alone and I suddenly thought - right, I'm going in that craft room and I'm not coming out until I've finished something. Well I did come out for the odd cuppa but basically that's how I've spent my Tuesday. And then two hours messing about on this decrepit old pc trying to upload and post here there and everywhere (My graphics programme has now decided it won't open any more - whatever next?).

Here's the card - this was a 'commission' for a friend. She asked me two months ago and the ceremony is next week and I made it today. Police cadet/trainee/passing out whatever in case that isn't obvious. Nothing like leaving things till the last minute is there?

Have a great day!!

WOYWW - kid's stuff!!

It's that occasional Wednesday when I am home so I have actually been in my craft room today prepping the samples for my some of my summer children's activities (err,... isn't this your day off? thought work was done at work... well think again). Anyhow it needed to be done and now I'm feeling a lot less anxious.

When I popped over to Julia's blog just now she said her desk looked a little grown up - well I had to laugh, mine is covered in craft for 4 - 8 yr olds. So you can see the toilet roll holder clown and elephant (he needs a feather on his head though to make him a circus elephant I think), the lion 'puppet', and at last the carousel which I have been really nervous about but which came together fine which considering it is made up of templates from 3 different projects is a bit of a miracle. It is a bit fiddly but I'm only doing that one with a small group of older children as quite a bit has to be prepped beforehand and I don't have the time or space. I showed the idea to a colleague at another library and she has gone mad - she will be doing it with about 30 children at once!!! Glad I won't be there that day lol.

Under the mess somewhere are the ATCs I started yesterday but now won't get time to finish till the weekend as it's work work work from here on in.

Anyhow, happy 'hump' day to you all and enjoy WOYWW. Oh, if you don't know what that is, then pop over to Julia's blog for a look see.

JULY GIVEAWAY WILL BE A LITTLE A BIT DIFFERENT....

as I am seriously time challenged this month due to prepping all the summer Children's activities at work - have gone a bit mad this year so now I am paying the price for over committing myself!!!

So the upshot is I haven't been doing much crafting and although I have a couple of things in reserve I thought I might share something with you and have a slightly different giveaway this month.

As some of you will know, my postcard entry was the editor's choice in Craft Stamper magazine last month. I was dead chuffed because it is one of the few things I've entered anywhere this year.

When my prize arrived it was a set of crafty individual papers and stamps. I had to suppress a chuckle because they are the same stamps and papers I won for my Christmas mailer which I entered in to Alter it Monthly. So being a cheeky girl, I emailed CI and asked if they would swap the stamps for me. They very kindly agreed to send me my choice of stamps and even paid the postage. What's more they told me to keep the set I had and use them for a giveaway. How kind is that? So that is exactly what I am doing. The set in question is CI-284 and contains lovely images of young girls - great for beach or friendship themes. I do hope that whoever wins will take the time to upload a project to the CI gallery and say 'thank you' as it is their generosity that has made this possible.

So the July draw is for this lovely red rubber stamp plate. Usual rules apply, please leave a comment on this post if you would like to be included, international players welcome and feel free to link from your own blogs. Closing Date 8.00 pm Sunday 31st July.
