Baby I’m Back…

Well, well and truly back from my hols now, it truly all seems like a dim and distant dream………No more holidays until September, however will I cope?

Anyhow, only just got back in the craft room so norhing much to show you but a couple of cards that were received while I was away.

This one was the first of those A frame cards I tried out. Still obsessing with these woodware flower stamps – I think I have certainly had my moneys worth out  of these!!

And here’s an easel card made using JOFY stamps. I printed the backing paper from a CD.

Finally a birthday card for my friend’s daughter. More digital backing papers!! I think they were from the Papercraft Factory. And I did rescue that errant button before I put it in the envie, just didn’t realise when I photographed it!!

See ya soon.

Try It On Tuesday - A TAG!!

Tags are one of my favourite things to do, because they aren't a card (!) and bigger than an ATC so a bit more room.

Also a great excuse to get inky and not worry about the back too much (heh, heh, I am such a mucky crafter).

Here is my DT offering for this fortnight's Challenge. The background is inks, paint, and some gilding flake.

The flower stamp is by Sam Poole.

The actual challenge at Try It On Tuesday is 'A tag somewhere' - so if you want to make something else it just needs to have a tag on it.

To link your project and check out the rest of the DT inspiration hop on over to the Try It On Tuesday blog.

Thanks for looking!!

Here Comes Summer at Fantasy Stampers

Goodness these fortnights are flying. And we are indeed well into Summer now, blue skies or no, and that is our challenge theme this fortnight at Fantasy Stampers..

Summer to me always means flowers and you can hardly go wrong with a flowery project.

I am rather fond of the latest 'modern' flowers from Woodware and decided to use one of the stamps from the 'Mini Flowers' set for my project. I also wanted to try out an 'A Frame' card blank in my stash. Here is the card as it comes out of the envelope.

Patterned papers are from Anna Marie Designs. For the rest, first I stamped a flowery background using masks and coloured lightly with watercolours. Then I stamped and paper pieced four flower heads and rough cut some stems and leaves.

I attached them to strips of acetate so  that when the card was stood up it looked like this.

Couldn't resist a bit of glitter to bling it up.

Rather like this one, and wouldn't be that hard to do if you have a steady hand with a craft knife.

Here's an angled photo to give you a better idea of the '3D' effect. You can just make out the acetate strips.

So that's my little project. Now it's your turn but please don't forget that we need to see some stamping on your project. Pop over to the Fantasy Stampers blog to see more inspiration and link up your own make. Thanks for looking!

Let’s put the bunting out…..

yes well about time I hear you say. I started this mixed media bunting way back in May, finished most of it at the WOYWW crop on the 24th and it’s taken me three weeks to finish the last few bits and add a bit of string. WARNING: Picture heavy post!!

Well here we go, the finished ‘flags’ (what is the name for individual bits of bunting I wonder?) before stringing.

IMG_1280[1]

And here it is up on the wall. Not entirely sure this is where it will stay, but this’ll do until I get back from holiday. I’m also thinking it is not quite pretty enough. I might add some bows. What do you think?

IMG_1286[1]

Doesn’t look much like this, Maybe we need some close ups…. or you can leave now…….

Bad Blogger!!

Oh why does life get so busy? Doing nothing!! Just the endless round of work, chores, shopping, duty visits, and personal maintenance ……… and the list is still a mile long!! So I have not been about much lately or had much time in the craft room. Cue sad face.

But I did find time to make a card for a work colleagues wedding last weekend. I used two 8 x 8 cards and stuck them together so that it opened up with lots of space for all the work peeps to put their congrats. Love this LOV image, it’s so sweet.

IMG_1216

Oh well, just wanted to say ‘hi’. What to do next, have about an hour before I go to pick up DD and we have to decide whether to proceed with our planned Father’s Day BBQ or opt for roasties and chicken kievs indoors. I really should have known better than to utter the ‘B’ word! but it was so hot at work this week my brain melted and I broke the habit of a lifetime. Hope you are all having a good day whatever the weather!!

What’s on Your Workdesk, Wednesday #262

Morning deskers!! Failed miserably last week without a linky to guide me but we’ll try again this week!! I have been so busy just lately with the house and garden I am very behind with my crafting and blogging. In fact the craft room was quite a mess, so it had to be tidied tonight. Boring.

IMG_1275[1]

But I do have some WIP on my other desk – things I started on holiday and then at the crop, still not finished. I spent a whole day stamping, embossing and cutting those flowers and still nothing to show for it. Maybe in the next few days!! Two new prima doll stamps so I can make even more bunting – yep, I do have a bit of an addiction with these!

IMG_1276[1]

So that’s me, work today (joy) so I’ll be visiting later this evening.

Oh and if you don’t know what I am on about (is that even possible?) go here for an explanation.

Have a good Wednesday!!

Try It On Tuesday – It’s Boy Time!!

Ha ha here we go again with those challenging male projects. This time it’s for Try It On Tuesday. For this DT piece I have chosen to make a card with a cute fisherman chappie from Personal Impressions – another unused stamp I think – I’m on a roll!

IMG_1268

Otherwise it’s a real mix of products - the fish border (I did think it was a bit big, but kinda works) is a stamp from the Artistic Stamper. Polka dot background card and hessian from Anna Marie Designs, sentiment from Craftwork Cards. Really wasn’t sure about this one but like the way it came together in the end. Don’t know any fishermen though so this one is for my MacMillan collection.

But what we really need to see is YOUR project. Go on, link up with us at TiOT where there is oodles more inspiration from the team.

Thanks for looking!!

Fantasy Stampers - For The Boys

This fortnight we are challenging to create something for a man in your life – something I know many of us, myself included, find …well.. more than a bit of a challenge!!
Here is my DT project.
 IMG_1269
The main image is ‘Harbourside’ by Michael Powell and I have had it for over a year and I’m pretty sure it has never seen ink. For something a bit different I stamped once onto centura pearl card and coloured with watercolour  pens and pencils. I then stamped it a second time onto acetate and overlaid it. Background papers from my stash (yay) and the ‘Dad’ sentiment stamp  was a freebie with a docrafts magazine.
Now I know lots of you will have been making Father’s Day cards – so why not share your project with us at Fantasy Stampers? Hope to see you there!!

Drum Roll Please….June Art Draw – It’s shoe time!!

Oh yes, having got my templates out I couldn’t resist making another and this one is for my Monthly Art draw.

IMG_1271

Once again I have used  Teresa Collins’ fabrication papers and this is a different design, more of a little slipper. It has a matching tag book stuffed inside for the winner.

 IMG_1270

If you would like to be included in the draw then simply leave a comment to that effect on this post before 9.00 pm on Monday 30th June. International players welcome, feel free to link from your own blogs and if you let me know you have done so I will put you in the draw twice. Make sure I have a way to contact you if you win!!

Thanks for joining in - see ya!

What’s On Your Workdesk, Wednesday # 261

Afternoon deskers! I’m having one of those days being a domestic goddess so I am very late to join in but feeling virtuous because I have had a thorough clean and tidy up upstairs. Downstairs tomorrow if I’ve still got the urge but that is less work – no bathrooms!!

IMG_1266[1]To business. As you can see my room may be tidy but it hasn’t reached the desk yet. Unposed, untidied and rather unappealing. I have been stamping and colouring for a dt piece which is no longer on the desk.

Blogger playing silly b’s so this post could be all over the place and who knows where the picture will be.However, if you can see my desk and are intrigued, HERE is a 'how to' join in WOYWW,everyone is welcome. I have swap thank you’s to make following the sanniversary trade but I have had it with this post so I’m not going to try and add any more piccies. Have a good day! Will be round to see as many as possible thru today and tomorrow. Cindy x

Try It On Tuesday- A woman’s right to Shoes!!

Oh goodness, late again with my DT post, I will be getting in such trouble!! However we are now mid challenge at Try It On Tuesday so I have a chance to nudge you into taking part with some extra inspiration – there’s still a week to go!!

The theme for this challenge is 'Feminine and Fancy' and you can get as girly and frivolous  as you wish. And what I ask you is more feminine and fancy than a gorgeous shoe? (Even if these days most of my footwear appreciation is window shopping rather than wearing!!).

  IMG_1246[1]

I have used a template from House of Zandra – but shoes really are very easy to make and there are other templates available on the web although I would recommend using a decent weight cardstock so that your finished project is not too flimsy. The papers I have chosen are from Teresa Collins ‘fabrications’ range (yum yum) so pretty substantial. Then I just went a bit nuts with the decoration!! The big blowsy flower was one I made at the recent WOYWW crop.

IMG_1245[1]

So go on, join in at TiOT with your feminine and fancy creation!!

Another Tiled Tag….

IMG_1265[1]

PC been playing up today so just a quick pic of the second tiled tag I made. Still not too sure about my papers and background. Didn’t really want all the words together, fiddled about and moved them and then stuck them back the first way without thinking. So it must have been meant. Go figure.

See ya.
