JUNE GIVEAWAY

I read a quote the other day, not sure who by, but it was something like 'If it wasn't for last minutes no a lot would get done'. Well, I'm thinking of adopting this as mt personal mantra as omnce again I am up against it in both my personal and professional life. Today I have to go to work where I need to prep for a children's craft activity the first day I return, plus sort out another while I'm away. Plus of course serve the public all day. Straight from work we are out for a meal for a colleague who is leaving, then home to die my hair and finish packing, pay some bills, sort out some mail, try to get to bed before 10, sleep (hah I may be back) then up at 4 am to catch a 7 o'clock flight to the Algarve. So I though I'd better pop on quickly to upload this momth's giveaway.


It's an altered board book (actually it's an altered altered book because I did it once already and then decided I didn't like it). I have to confess it isn't quite finished. The front above needs a little more work.

This inside 'spread is' finished. But the one below might need a little more work.


Anyhoo I'll be back in a week and I promise it will be finished in time to post out at the end of the month. WOYWW # 104 - the 2nd anniversary

Well not really a second anniversary for me, as I'm an intermittent participant at best. But I do love a good celebration, so I am joining in this week. This is how my desk looks at the moment:

Mmmm. Lots of product on display but basically the same artwork that was there last week. Perhaps the other direction looks better....
Perhaps not. I think I was looking for something last night. The floor doesn't look much better.

Aah, at last. Some WIP, an altered book, a hanging and last month's giveaway packaged up to post out. All for some reason sitting on the printer (the only clear space left?). A cannibalised mouse (I had to take the batteries out to go in the camera) and a cup of tea that's probably been there two days. What a slob.

No idea what I'm talking about? ADDENDUM: OR WHATEVER....a quick apology. Like many others I am having persistent problems with blogger and leaving comments on other people's blogs. I am trying various fixes with fairly inconsistent results so I do apologise for not being able to get round to see many people. Well, I look, but I can't always comment. It is driving me quietly crazy, am praying for a quick fix but this has been going on for weeks now. If you are one of those affected (according to blogger a small percentage(?!) you will know what I mean. But you probably won't be able to leave me a comment to tell me lol.

Yeah I know, vintage collage again but that's what I've had out this week. Hope you all had a good weekend. It was a Bank Holiday here in the UK and I've just realised I've got an even shorter week than usual and heaps to do at work. Yikes!!!

WOYWW #103

Well it's my once-every-four-week Wednesday to be at my desk so I'll join in with the shinnanegans (sp?) this week. Here it is:-

Ha, I say that like it was easy, when the truth of the matter is when I uploaded the photo I didn't change the automatic naming thingy and it took me 10 mins to find where I had uploaded it too. LOL. Considering how long I have been using pcs (the internet was a baby when I was working at London Uni) the abyss that is my technical knowhow terrifies me sometimes. Thanks goodness for techie OH's and teenage children.

But I digress. The main item on my desk is a commissioned card for a 70th birthday along with some pretty papers (Laura Ashley?)that I used for it. It will be an easel card when finished but because I am rather fond of the little 'chinese' roses I neede to make a box to put it in as it won't fit in a normal envelope. Usually boxes cause me a lot of problems and endless tries in the bin but somehow last night it just went right. Not quite finished and it was rather late so I left it while I was still winning. Will sort it out sometime today. Oh and those roses...

I KNOW they are only spirals but I just couldn't get the hang of them. But I splurged on a Marianne die I saw at ALLy Pally and now they are perfect every time!!

Other things on the desk include a load of ATCs and tags I should put up for trade/file and I can also see the Big n Juicy pads that I have never opened (won't say how long they have been there). Sigh, so many projects, so little time.....

If you are wondering what all this is about, basically WOYWW is just a bit of fun, a weekly blog hop where you can visit other tidy(sic) and creative souls who have bared their creative all for you to see. Well what a long post, you will all be bored to tears. You have to excuse me nattering on I have been away in the Cotswolds without a pc (!) so am suffering withdrawal symptoms. On the way back we dropped in to the lovely Waterperry gardens nr Oxford. Here is a picture of some lovely poppies that I have just added as my screen saver. (you could say this is What's on My Desktop Wednesday).

Is it a fan... is it an ATC... IT IS A GIVEAWAY!!!

May giveaway is finally here. I am still having lots of problems signing in to blogger, not sure if it's my pc or some other problem but its very tedious as I am usually on a very tight schedule timewise.



Anyhow here is the May giveaway which is a fan ATC. It is a concept I saw on Laura's blog, (in fact I've just popped over and there is an awesome new sample to see!!) and she very kindly posted insructions here. I was inspired to try one out because her examples are so very beautiful. The fan is supposed to be basic ATC size at its widest points when folded up (somehow mine ended up just a little bit bigger!!) but opens out into a semi circular fan shape.

Dream, Love, Art..........

just a quick post to show a set of ATCs made using the faux metal technique ie tin foil. The last one I made went AWOL when sent off for a trade so I have been trying to get in the groove to make a replacement for my swap partner. And this afternoon I succeeded, not before time!! I cheated a little bit because the words are attached OVER the foil but I think it kinda works. 'DREAM' looks a little bit congested but I think you can still see it.



Giveaway is ready to be uploaded, will do that tomorrow night if I get a chance but my son is eating up all the bandwidth with his shoot 'em ups making uploading tediously slow so I'm off for now!!

Still out in the garden, (we have worked so hard these last two weekends) so no new crafting to report on!!
