What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Goodness these weeks do fly.

It's Wednesday again and time to go on our weekly bloghop courtesy of Julia Dunnit of Stamping Ground. Start there if you want to find out what is going on.

This is me today. Fairly calm and orderly. I have two projects on my desk, one is a bird cage thingy I am making for Mother's Day and the other is a birthday card for my sister using a Lily of the Valley image I bought a few weeks ago.  Struggling with the papers now. When will I learn to choose the papers before I colour the images? I find it much more difficult the other way round, nothing ever seems to match. Oh well I'm sure it will work out.

So that's that. If you have time to leave a message today I will return the favour. But I won't be here after Thursday morning, off to catch some sun, so although you are welcome to visit any time I may not be able to visit you after today. Hope that makes sense. Have a good day everyone!!

Hi Cindy, the image is lovely and the papers you've pulled out look well with it. I've seen it advised that you choose papers first and then colour your image to match but then it's easy to forget to do this. Enjoy your time in the sun :) Happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #79

a lovely image and coloured beautifully, have you thought about using the colours you have used on the image to make your own background paper?
I look forward to seeing the bird cage all done up

That's a beautiful image and you've coloured it so nicely, those papers you've got there look beautiful too, but I know what you mean - however much stuff you have it's never quite the right shade, or size, or... Have fun in the sun! MM x #97

I'm not good on the colouring but when I do an image like this I also work the wrong way round. Same thing as you - doh!
Love that image though, nicely coloured and that birdcage looks awfully interesting.
Thanks for visiting me earlier.

Glad I'm not the only one who gets all carried away and colours then realises you got to find papers! Hee hee when will we learn. Looks fab! No desk from me, because it's empty or I can't share yet what I'm working on! Take care Zo xx

The matching issue can raise it's ugly head at the darndest times. I usually restor to making my BG papers from the ink I used on the image, or adding it to something that is already close to the colors I need. Hope that helps :)

Gorgeous papers and the colouring on your image is excellent. Thanks for visiting me earlier. Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW. Mr Linky has disappeared from Julia's blog, but I was somewhere around #65! Caro x

Hi Cindy, I used to do that all the time, then learnt about taking the colours from the papers as a starting point for the rest of the project. I think thats why I now stamp my own backgrounds then I know I have the colours. Hugs Mo x

Hello Cindy, I'm a bit late replying to the woyww comments so you may not see this but anyway thanks for visiting.

I always seem to colour first then try to match the papers and it's always a trial just can't seem to do it any other way. Love LOTV image it's a great one.

I think we all struggle with the order of things - stamps first? colouring? background? I chop and change all the time :) Still, the colouring is looking good!

I used to colour first then pick papers but now I do try and do it the other way round and it is so much easier! Enjoy the sun and thanks for visiting me.

I sometimes colour first and then choose or do it 'properly' if I can't find what I need I just go for a solid colours and lots of layers, a bit of bling helps too! Thanks for sharing and enjoy your holiday Tracy #72

I know what you mean about picking colors first. LOL - I took a bunch of stamped images that I colored and tried to make some cards. Finding the right papers was quite a challenge. :-) April #151
