What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? #603

Good morning deskers, how is everyone 2 days before Christmas? I woke up late today and have a feeling it's going to be one of those not-quite-firing-on-all-cylinders kind of days. Good job everything is done.

I hope you all aren't too disappointed if your holiday plans have been curtailed, it's an absolute nightmare. If anyone is now going to be on their own on Christmas Day do let me know, I will find time to get in touch. Nothing has changed for us as it was always going to be 'just' the 5 of us but.... all 3 young people who have been out working have been told they have possibly had contact with Covid so everyone is hiding in their bedrooms waiting for results etc. It's certainly all very strange.

Anyhow, we are here for the desk.

As you can see I have been working on a few Lavinia style cards this week - these are to go in a Christmas parcel for a friend who sends lots of letters and cards. You can also see the book recommended by Shaz which has just arrived. TBH I haven't done much else this week, been a bit low with a UTI and the general situation but like everyone just trying to  get through each day at a time.

I have received some beautiful cards to brighten the festivities and I'll attempt to do justice to those in another post at some stage. For now just let me say 'Thank You' they are much appreciated.

Of course before I go I  must link up, as WOYWW is is our weekly bloghop courtesy of the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground - pop on over and join in, we don't bite.

Merry Christmas everyone,

Stay well, stay safe,

Cindy xx

Oh I hope that your young ‘uns don’t turn out positive, fingers crossed. It really is going to be odd this year, we just have to celebrate it anyway we can. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, blooming UTIs, they’re horrible. Perhaps you should try Shaz’s suggestion of drinking Robinson’s Lemon barley water, apparently that’s better than cranberry juice. You could always put some gin in it, I’m sure that would help.... :-D
Have a wonderful Christmas, lots of love to you and yours and thank you for the gorgeous card too,

Love those Lavinia cards Cindy. We will be five too, just us and the boys. The only difference is that we are allowed to go over to the two eldest's house on Christmas day and will cook dinner there. The middle son works from home and the eldest has been avoiding public transport when he goes to work in a socially distanced office so we are keeping things crossed. Stay safe, Merry CHristmas and happy WOYWW. Here's to a better 2021 all round. Sarah #11

Happy to read you will have family around you this Christmas only one of my 3 here this year as he's the only one that lives at home now. Hi Cindy - Lovely cards made this week. Well done. UTI - horrid, and just wears you down! Hope you feel better before Friday and can enjoy your family Christmas. Bless you. Three young 'uns all having to isolate until their results come back. Hope they arrive soon, and are all negative. I have two of my grandies isolating currently due to their fellow A level students (only one for each grandie!) having tested positive. I'm not heading anywhere this Christmas, so yes, I shall be on my own. Having spent huge acres of time on my own when my hubby was so ill, it doesn't bother me too much. Might be a different matter actually come Christmas Day, mind you!
You have a lovely heart - a family to look after etc on Christmas Day, and yet you are still willing to contact others. Sorry, that wasn't a hint!!!
Take care of yourself. God bless you. Have a wonderful time this Christmas.

So bad that your young people have to hide in their bedrooms - mind you my son does voluntarily - we hardly ever see him, unless we go into his room to talk to him! He even talks to us if he's in the right mood LOL. Teenagers! Hopefully, no one's got Covid in your household, but I'm acutely aware that any one of us can catch it at any time. Your colourful cards look lovely! Happy Christmas to you and your family, Cindy! xx zsuzsa #21

Ooh those Lavinia cards are just gorgeous, and Shaz is a good enabler isn't she - I was tempted by that book but ended up ordering a handful of Lavinia stamps instead. The book is on a 'to buy later' list!!
I'm sorry to hear you've had a UTI -they are ghastly and can make you feel very low and unwell - I do hope it's clearing up and you'll be free of it very soon - like Shaz said last week barley water is great.
I do hope you have a lovely Christmas, and that your young ones don't end up with Covid - what strange and scary times we are in at the moment.
Stay safe and well,

Oh dear, I had one of those a couple of weeks back - thank goodness the pills cleared it up in no time. Hope you get relief soon. Hope the family results all come back negative - and quickly!
Lovely cards, you are so clever, I cannot master the lavinia stuff at all - I need time to practice.
Well I am about to do the facepack, and the marshmallows are waiting on the kitchen counter for tonight. Thank you again.
All that is left for me is to wish you and yours a Very Happy Christmas and all the best for a different year ahead to the last.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx

Wow. those cards are wonderful! Sorry to hear you have been laid low with a UTI - never fun, that - and it is such a commentary on 2020, your kids hiding in their rooms. My daughter's school was a bit clever in that they moved to distance learning for the last week of term. Counting it out it meant that even if they had been exposed to Covid on the last day of school, their isolation period would be over on Christmas day! Very sensible and for us very welcome. As I have been shielded, we try to maintain a good distance in the house and even eat apart but in eyesight of each other. It was pure joy to all sit at the table together, even if it was just us three!
Hope you are feeling better by now and...

Happy VERY late WOYWW - Christmas got in the way!
