What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #699

Morning deskers! Sorry for my absence last week, Wednesday disappeared in the aftermath of deferred activities and commitments due to having Covid. But all's well now. I see we will reach 700 next week - another milestone!!

You see my desk in a fairly inactive state. My 'crafting' friend visited yesterday (only 4 cards this month)  and after tidying up after her departure I just started to rummage through my Christmas sticker box. I think I will stick them onto card and cut them out so they are more like ready to go embellishments, possibly to put on tags. They certainly aren't getting used as stickers and they have to be used or binned. Because I have now decided the black box can wait, it is time for full on Christmas production. The hat is a recent purchase that hasn't yet found it's way to the er... hattery.

I have recently confirmed that none of the fairs I usually frequent are running this year and I don't care to make the effort to find alternatives. So I find myself unexpectedly in a position of no pressure. I already made at least 80 Christmas cards which will more than meet my requirements so anything I make now is purely for pleasure and the joy of experimentation. Perfect.

These cards are for my next class on Friday - as you can see they will also have a Christmas theme. I am really getting in the zone. I am in love with the reindeer so much (his head wobbles) and it was freakily easy to do. Courtesy of an excellent Jennifer McGuire tutorial

So, why am I showing you my desk? Well it's our weekly Wednesday Blog Hop - WOYWW. Here's the link to the one responsible, the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground - pop on over and join in, see what it's all about and have a go yourself.

So that's me. This week still has a few plans, and I also hope to get out and about a bit a bit more to enjoy this wonderful autumn weather. Whatever you are doing have a great week.

Love n hugs,

Cindy xx

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #697

Well hellooooo there deskers. Well into October already - where do the days go?

I don't have a lot of news as after 2 1/2 years the Covid bug finally got me last week so I have been stuck at home sniffling and coughing and not much in the mood for crafting. Having said that, quite a few boring little jobs have got done so I don't feel it's been a wasted week, despite the amount of time spent have little snoozles under the duvet. Current challenges are the ironing, washing the bathroom floors and planting 100 bulbs for Spring.

I am under no illusion that all 3 will get done on Wednesday but something will.

I did have a little flurry of activity today (Tuesday) as I was going through craft stuff and found some pot shaped card blanks that have never been used. As there are quite a few, I thought I could use them up in a class so with very little creative brain at the mo, went on  pinterest to find an idea I liked. I saw a card made using tulips, recalled I had a NBU tulip and die set and then I was off cutting and stamping and then colouring in the garden in the sunshine. What a lovely afternoon.

So here's my desk from a diff viewpoint with my (unfinished) prototype card. It wouldn't stand reliably -  I had thought that might be a problem - so I cut the 'pot' a bit smaller and added a basic easel. Of course although this sorted that problem I had omitted to check that it fit in a regular envelope - I HATE making envelopes with a passion so that isn't going to happen in front of a class!! Back to the drawing board I think. 3 tulips would solve the envelope problem but might look a bit mingy. Probably I just need to stack them closer together. It would be quite a lot of prep for a class, but its easy prep with a die and a stamp and then it's just colouring, inking and sticking. I could even have a cup of coffee. I think it has legs as a project, what do you reckon?

Absolutely stunned to read this morning about Debbie Rock's passing. A truly lovely and generous crafter who for some reason doubted her extraordinary talent. I have a beautiful clock on my wall gifted by her. Condolences to her hubby Phil and family. RIP Debbiexx.

Have a good week all, love n hugs Cindy xx

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #696

Morning all. 6.45 am here and it is full on dark. Yuk.

But to business. I don't have any pics of the Crop you will have to pop over to Helen for those. But it was great, so lovely to re-connect with deskers I have met before and meet more in the flesh for the first time. Big thanks to Jo and Annie who made it happen and to Julia our illustrious leader who also did the driving!! Of course I came back with a bunch of RAKs and a fab raffle prize.

I haven't talked so much and so consistently for months. It was hard to come down to earth on Monday, but by Tuesday I was at my desk again tackling one of those black baskets. Made good headway with finishing off projects and ditching. About 10 cards in total to add to the stash.

Here's the desk this morning only ever so slightly staged.

The ATCs bottom LH corner were what I took to crop, there are a couple left if anyone wants one. I will persevere with the basket this morning but then I really must prep for my craft class on Friday. We have moved to the local library for now, still not ideal but we'll see how we get on.
