What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #703

Welcome to our weekly Wednesday Blog Hop - WOYWW. Here's the link to the one responsible, the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground - pop on over and join in, see what it's all about and join in yourself.

Well there I was last week, once again bemoaning my internet woes, but managing to visit everyone who linked up before I went off to lunch feeling a little proud of myself for once. Came back, internet was down, eventually checked via my phone, we had an official outage, not just flakiness and that was that, no more internet till Thursday evening!! So apols to those on the end of the list for not getting there!!

Anyhoo, here's my desk this morning, pretty devoid of crafting as I tidied up after my crafty friend came to visit yesterday.

Goodness it looks like the home of some crazy hoarder person!! (Busted).

I have taken the clear desk as an opportunity to search for something in my artbins. I keep my dies in these on magnetic sheets - I have 8 of these and could do with a couple more as they are all stuffed, but I don't have anywhere to put any more.

Needless to say I haven't found it.

We made these cards (well she stuck flowers I had previously stamped and cut out onto a bg I had previously made).

They turned out pretty well.

Earlier this week I decided that we would make this Diamond Faceted side easel card at my next craft club - I will leave it to them to decide how to finish it off!!

I had seen a utube by Sam Calcott and also watched one she referenced by Iced Images. The cards are quite easy, but you need to come up with a way to cover the acetate where it is attached. I didn't like the suggestions for making two triangles into a single piece (can't think how else to describe that) as there are a few measurements that I knew I would not have the patience to explain so I experimented with alternatives.

My try outs included a punched square, a heart, and a frame. So I have cut the pieces for a frame but if they would rather do the other ways that will be fine. Which solution do you prefer?

Hearts

Square with tiny snowflakes

Frame

Frozen shoulder still giving me gyp and I am so fed up with rain and wearing so many layers of clothing!!

Fingers crossed I can get a day on the internet today!
Have a good week, love n hugs, Cindyxx

Hummm. I must go watch those videos for sure, as that card is right up my alley. Any sort of paper engineering and I'm all over it LOL! I think I like the Snowflake best, but it might be just cause I like that CARD best, IYKWIM. Hard to drill down into the mechanics of it rather than just see the loveliness :) Interesting for sure. And one more project for my "As Seen on WOYWW" list... LOL!
Happy, and thankful for WOYWW!

Interesting cards! I don’t even pretend to understand the technique, it’s all about the colours and designs for me, they’re all funky, I love ‘em! I liked the simple cards you put together for your friend too, that’s more my level, lol! Sorry that you’re still under the weather though, these things seem to take ages…

I am a huge fan of Sam and her card making. Must go and have a look at your links. Out of the three I prefer the Christmas one - snowflake - but that is probably because I am in a Christmas mood. Well, card making wise really. Need to get on and strike whilst the iron is hot so to speak - too many to still do. Glad I hit on a quick one.
Sorry about the frozen shoulder, this wet weather doesn't help I guess.
Hugs, Neet 10 xx

I think the frame Cindy..an opportunity to add contrast or another pattern as embellishment. You know me, more is more! They are all grand samples, and look fearfully complicated to me! So sorry about your shoulder, it’s debilitating, do they recommend anything in particular, like a spa day to include a nice massage?!! I’m loving the look of your cleared desk, but don’t let it be for long, I might get newbie jeebies! sorry you couldn’t find the ‘thing’, you are so not alone with that. Also, laughed at loud at the hoarder and ‘busted’ comment….omgeee….

Hi. I'm late as always but I have beeen using my time wisely today. I only had one little sewing job to do this morning so I have spent my day finishing the last batch of Christmas cards that I needed...job done now. I just need to get them sent now :-)

I do hope the frozen shoulder heals of it's own accord, as they can do. Are you doing any specific exercises? Saying that I tried to sort mine for 18 months then resorted to surgery. That was my left one but have now noticed my right is a little iffy at dancing - oh no!
Obviously I love the tidy desk as I'm that way inclined and yes hoarder extraordinare methinks - LOL. Hope you find the die soon, super cards. BJ#15

Loving the card folds, not seen this one before. The ladies at our craft club love fold cards. I must have a look at this as I know they would love it. It's only when the internet goes down thast we realise just how dependant we seem to have become on it. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x12x

Thanks for your visit, I'm running late, we took the day to run errands and have lunch, had lots to catch up on at home later. We have a lot in common with shoulder, internet and desks. I can organize once a week and once I start a project wham...a total mess everywhere. I even hate to have anyone see it. Your cards are great. Glad you had some fun time with a friend Have a great weekend.
