What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - WOYWW #573

It's Wednesday again. I know I am repeating myself. But this has been yet another week that has simply flown, I really am staggered by the speed of life passing by when I'm not even doing anything.

What have I to report? Well, to be honest, I finished off, as far as I can (LLJ reminding you here about photographs!!) the ATC scrapbook I showed you last week but I have really achieved very little else since then. I am about to embark on my 3rd box of WIPs (centre stage on my desk) and I admit enthusiasm to start this is a little low right now. It's been so lovely weatherwise I have taken to just sitting in the garden reading for several hours each day. Lots of family games of Skip-bo, Settlers (aka 'sheep') and Mexican Train. Plus lots of watering of pots. Because all of my water butts are completely empty (waiting for that shoe to drop) and my hose doesn't reach quite to the end of the garden (and in any event is a right pain to unravel) I use a watering can but it necessitates several trips up and down each day.

Well, it's one way to get my steps in and I consider lugging the full cans weight bearing exercise. You have to look for the positives.

Still busy with the odd little project on my rather drab looking desk. I did manage to cut out a load of makeup images for a birthday card I will share with you in a couple of weeks and I have a commission for a 90th birthday card to get on with. So far I have put the box together, the rationale being that as I have no idea yet what to do with the card and making up boxes always irritates me I am getting it out of the way. When inspiration strikes I'll have already done the boring bit.  It's not needed until August so hardly pressing. I still have video requests to fulfil, and now I am in possession of a shiny new phone hope to get that done as a priority as it's been dragging on for weeks as I fought with recalcitrant technology. The wedding invites are on the back burner, as it looks like we may be delaying till next year. A disappointment for my future DIL and just to top off her week her cat was injured and had to be put to sleep. I so wanted to give her a hug when she popped over for a bit of socially distant socialising.  But despite all the above we continue healthy and harmonious in our little family bubble and I managed to go and chat to mum in the garden last Friday. I'm planning to pop to a friend's to do the same some time this afternoon. Have thermos, folding chair and brownies. What more does one need?

Why am I telling you all this? Because it's WOYW Wednesday, the day when we go for a wander around the desks of the great and the good courtesy of the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground. Pop on over and join in why don't ya?

Happy WOYWW, Stay safe, stay well.

I got to you eventually via last week's link Cindy, as for some reason, this week did not want to open. Another person who knows Mexican Train, I thought our family was one of the few in this country who did (Mum and Dad brought it back from Canada with them). I think you can be excused for not wanting to start box 3 of the WIPs. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7

Thanks for the reminder - in all the madness of trying to get the new PC up and running and everything reloaded, I had forgotten. Can you send me your email address via Messenger and I'll sort something out today. Memory like a sieve, honestly.......
Glad you're ok and I'm relieved that I'm not the only one who's losing track of the days!
Hugs LLJ 2 xxxx

I am impressed you have managed to finish more projects. Once the anniversary passed I packed all those UFO's away and think I may do another one next year LOL. Sounds like your idea of catching up with a brownie on the side is perfect. Stay safe as you create.

Your list of goodies ready for the garden sounds inviting - I think I might join you - from my own garden of course.
I am impressed that you are still working on ufo's - presuming that is what is in the wip box. Just wish I could stir myself into doing just the same. I think my next job sill be to sort out a delivery for the next drop - that might involve a bit of thinking about what I think the weather holds in store for us.
Haven't a clue on any of the games you mentioned - wonder if Google will help - off to see.
Hugs, Neet 9 xx

Hi Cindy. Your family are great games players!! My family are all the same - we have even attempted Perudo as a Whatsapp video call twice in the last few weeks - hmmm... mixed success, but a load of laughter!! Love Settlers of Catan - I never win, but that's ok.. sort of... I'm impressed you have made the box already for that card - especially as you have no idea of the card yet - wow! Well done you. What more could you want indeed - have a great visit!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Hi Cindy, you are a right busy bunny! I'm afraid my UFO finishing has also gone off the boil, I really need to not do so many pieces of each project, I get fed up with them really quickly! Have a great week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #17 X

Oh my Goodness give yourself a gold star for getting through two boxes of WIP's let alone considering starting on a third! It sounds like you are steaming through them at a rate of knots.
Hope you have a good week,

I can never persuade my lot to play games so I am envious of your games of settlers and others. Also of the time to sit and read - absolute bliss! Happy WOYWW. Stay safe my friend, and I hope you have a good week. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#4)

Hi Cindy, sitting in the garden sounds good to me and I think you deserve it after walking up and down the garden. I understand that as the water butt by my greenhouse is empty and the one that used to be on the shed has not been replaced yet so I'm doing a fair bit of walking but it's got to be a good thing. Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x19x

I did get some UFOs done that I didn't realize I had.
We love sitting out on our patio in the morning for breakfast and watching the birds eat. I have lots of watering to do, too. And as the heat cranks up sometimes I have to water twice a day for those plants in full all day sun.
Sounds like you're keeping busy!
Have a great week!

You’ve done so well with the UFOS anyway Cindy, that I think its ok to find yourself a bit reluctant with the next basket....wait for the weather to turn (that shoe must surely drop!!). I water with a can too..because our garden is small - probably 20 paces from tap to bottom of garden, so its no big deal for me. I don’t think those few steps would count much! I like it anyway, you kind of get in a rhythm with it! AM disappointed for your son and DIL, its having the decision taken out of their hands that makes it so disappointing I think, and they probably didn’t have a 6 week engagement either, it’s hard to postpone a really special day. Glad that you’re all well in the Cindy bubble, we are too and I’m grateful for that. Have exactly the same plan as you for tomorrow and am really looking forward to my foldy chair and chocolate biscuit social!

Well done with your UFOs so far, Cindy, and it looks as if you've got a lot to do, with the 90th birthday card commission as well. I am so sorry to hear about your DIL's kitty - how terribly sad for her and I bet you really wanted to give her a hug!! It's awful having to postpone the wedding, too.

Happy belated WOYWW
