What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday? WOYWW# 576

Greetings. I hope you are all well, though I am no longer exactly sure what anyone is supposed to be doing any more. I am at home. I am staying here. For quite a while I would think.

Did you miss me? I'm afraid I really lost the plot last week, I didn't realise it was Wednesday until fairly late in the afternoon. I know we joke that the weeks are blurring but perleeze  - I really needed to get my head together. It had been a trying weekend.

Anyhoo, I have been cracking on with my WIP boxes. Here is no 3.

Oh yeah, your eyes do not deceive you. WIP Box No 3 is empty. Go me. I have just one last project from that box on my desk to finish. I have made over 150 cards I think, mainly using the leftover bits from classes, odd stamped or printed images and die cuts, just whatever has been hanging around. The quality is variable, but it's a big tick as far as I am concerned. Liberating even. If anyone has any interest in checking out my lockdown cards, you can check out my album here.

So here is my desk, and this is the last WIP project from box 3, one I did in class about two years ago. Or maybe 3, I keep forgetting to add at least an extra 3 months on to everything. (I just looked at the instructions - it says we did this project in January 2017!!!) . I've got two 'kits' left over from that class to make up and then Box 3 is done. At the back you can see my samples for a kid's craft video I am doing for Ealing Libraries in support of the Summer Reading Challenge. Yes, I know I said I wouldn't do it anymore but  ............

However I haven't finished catching up with the WIPs/UFOs. There is still the 'Prepped Workshop Classes' box -  I really can't recall what is in there. Obviously it should be prepped classes but other stuff seems to ahem, end up in there. Still that should be a quickie. I'm more concerned about Box no 5 which is labelled (rather ominously)  'Mixed Media Workshop and Christmas'. There could be literally anything in there and I know it hasn't moved in a while..... Possibly full of toilet rolls and bubblewrap. But why Christmas? Because box no 6 is actually - you guessed it  - CHRISTMAS (earmarked for July in case you are interested). But enough of the boxes, to celebrate I'm having a week off to do just what I want. Which may of course turn out to be just lounging in the garden in between thunderstorms. With a cream tea. For some reason I included scones, jam and clotted cream in my weekly shop. (I blame Helen). DD is self isolating as she broke ranks and spent the weekend with her Significant Other so I don't have anyone to indulge with. Not sure it's as satisfying if you eat it on your own. Or maybe it is. Maybe my neighbour is free....

Why am I telling you all this? Because it's WOYW Wednesday, the day when we go for a wander around the desks of the great and the good courtesy of the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground. Pop on over and join in why don't ya?

Have a good Wednesday. Stay home. stay well, stay safe.

Cindy x

LOL what are you like! I forced myself to make a card last night so I would have something to share as it has been weeks since anything crafty happened! Just getting ready for work - back at the office not, socially distanced and getting a lift so no buses yet... Good luck with the next boxes of WIPs .... Helen #2

Morning Cindy. I just LOVE this post! You are doing amazing work on your WIP boxes - and, yes, I popped to the link. Got a bit of a surprise to find my self on twitter, or something... however, it let me peep. WELL DONE! An amazing achievement. you done good, girl! All the best with the next box or two - and then the Christmas box... never fear - it will soon be July!
Enjoy the scones - I'll be there thinking of you.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Wow, what an achievement - you know you're amongst friends when we all rejoice with you at the sight of an empty box, lol!! That's an amazing job done and the cards you did are fab. I think you deserve double cream tea rations to fortify you to attack the next few boxes!

I think you may win the Lockdown Achiever prize! Super impressed. I have a bunch of card kits to make up and they wouldn’t take long...but I cant bring myself to lift them from their box in case they uncover a whole lot more....And Mr Dunnit has announced the building work will begin in my workroom as soon as Ive cleared out the cupboards on the pertinent wall. So thats all of the cupboards and work surface then. OMG. And I hate the pressure of being the one he’s waiting for! Like you, we cant decide what we’re meant to be doing in terms of lockdown or not, so we’re being very cautious and staying at home almost as much. I confess to having visited SHopkeeper Gal’s yesterday. She re-opened and I felt obliged to show support. Really. Obliged. Gave my mask its first run too. Don’t like it! You enjoy the cream tea....I think its fine to be on your own with it...probably make it feel as if you’re eating in secret and being very naughty! Take the tray to the secret garden and enjoy!

Hi Cindy, well done one getting through your WIP boxes and making so many cards. I'll check out the link after I've done this. Your post did make me laugh, wont it be fun to see what exactly is in box no. 5 .... oooh exciting! And the cream tea - go on, scoff it all yourself - you deserve it after all that card making! Thanks for stopping by my blog - I've been thinking I should drag my bike out of the garage, but... I just don't like riding a bike on roads - it terrifies me! Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #13

Very industrious, Cindy - it sounds as if you are making great progress with your WIPs/UFOs. Same here, although I'm not so organised as to have specific boxes for them! I've got heaps of stuff (literally) in the sitting room as I work on my knitting UFOs.

Thank you for your visit - glad you like the knitting. Don't worry about the technicalities - it's as much for my benefit as anyone else's, so I can look back and remember what I did! I see you commented on my last week's WOYWW post - I had a bit of a glitch this a.m. because I published today's WOYWW from my iPad and later in the day, wondered why nobody seemed to have commented, and realised that it didn't seem to have gone up after all. My iPad doesn't seem to work very well for blogging which is a bit of a pain. Anyway, the proper post for this week is now up, if you want to take a gander.

Happy WOYWW,

I wish I was closer! I'd come and keep you company while you / we ate scones. Purely altruistic of course, just a help a friend ;-) Well done on getting through some of your boxes! You guys have all inspired me to get some of mine completed while I'm on "gardening leave" (in between actual gardening). If only I could remember where I had hidden them... Have a great week, Lisa-Jane #23

Oops, was hoping nobody had noticed my lack of #Cheers. My back had a real bad period and I stopped posting. I need to take some photos to carry on. Then had two good days of no pain at all so went daft crafting but yesterday it was back and today with a vengeance. Will get back on it.
Sorry you had a trying weekend, hope this coming one is much better and you can get your head around the days - I am the same, always a day late or one in front.
Good to see that empty box, shame you have more to unveil but one day you will reveal an empty box no 6. One day!
I found a recipe for scones made with lemonade and fresh cream. Looked so good and light on the video. I had to wait for a delivery to get cream and lemonade. made them, thought it a bit sticky but added a bit more flour despite worrying about it. Well, if I threw them at the door they would maybe break it. Not being too daunted I have cream and lemonade on the order this week, but this time I will not put as much liquid in as she says.
Scones and clotted cream are meant to be eaten alone, did you not know that? That way there are more scones and abundant amount of cream just for you.
Hugs, (scurrying off before you throw something at me) - Neet 6 xx

Brilliant job getting through your boxes! I must admit I Ebayed a lot of my unfinished (well hardly started) cross-stitch projects last year but I have started replacing them...
Stay safe...

Hi Cindy, great job clearing all those boxes. Now for a well earned cream tea! If we weren't on lockdown you'd probably get trampled in the rush, lol. So many fab cards made, well done. Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #16 X

Hi Cindy -

What a satisfying achievement getting through those boxes! 150 cards - incredible! Christmas planning in July - even incredibler!

I didn't manage to get round all the workdesks last week, so I've just been poring over the lovely photos of your workspace - so much to see, and so beautifully organised!

Cream tea between the thunder-storms sounds rather nice...just off to amend this weeks shopping list...

Have another productive lost week!

Hi Cindy, I am glad I am not the only one who suddenly realised it’s Wednesday. I love cream scones, but gluten free ones are not as nice! Angela #38

I was going to cheer you for emptying the box but then I read the amount of UFO's you still have in boxes... ;D but you do deserve a HOORAY!!! GREAT JOB on finishing this one! And you even found the time to stop by my blog last week, thank you! I'm rather late but took a break from creating to visit you back. Enjoy your weekend, hug from Holland, Marit #24

Hi Cindy, ( I couldn't make the email you button work from my blog) but, the stamp storage is really just pre made finished press board shelving from the store with metal brackets holding it onto the wall then one last shelf was mounted to the end of them on the left side as that is near a window and I was trying to keep the light off the clear ones. I think what makes it look so cool is all the divider tabs. :) ~Stacy
