What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #774

Morning deskers, welcome to our weekly Wednesday Blog Hop - WOYWW. Here's the link to the one responsible, the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground - pop on over and join in, see what it's all about and join in yourself.

Hope you all had a lovely Easter, ours was quiet (by choice) but we did manage a Reggae night and a visit to see some friends for lunch and games. (My new f avourite game is called 'Splendour').

Once again though I don't know the date, day or time, my routine is completely scuppered and when oh when will it stop raining?

Well, I fib a bit, I do after all know that it's Wednesday and here's my  desk.

It's late Tuesday so apologies for the lighting. The pc screen at the back has my partially written WOYWW post, endless mugs and some butterfly die cuts. My up/down desk in the foreground sports my samples for my Friday class when we will be trying our hand at a Floating Seagull card.

I have wanted to try this 'fold' for a while and it really is very easy. It folds to go into an envelope and makes quite the mantel pleaser.

It is also really easy to screw it up. I'm not quite sure how we will get on as I have messed the card base up a couple of times already and I really do know what I am doing. I have written instructions and I did the maths and everything. Fingers crossed it won't be a disaster. (Honestly it is three score lines and then glue two panels on to another one. Simples right?)

The logistics of this fold got me so discombobulated that once I had sorted it out I had no brainspace left to decide on a theme, colour or papers. So I have just raided my scrap stash and bundled up some bits in little packs - currently in my glittery box - so everyone will have to choose what papers go where themselves and also whether they want big butterflies, little butterflies, sentiment .... you get the picture. So they will all be different.

Well hopefully all the Floating Seagulls will be the same.

What could possibly go wrong?

That's it from me as I need to tidy up so there is room for 2 to craft - my friend is coming over this morning and she is on a card making mission.  So I will probably not be desking till late afternoon. Meet you then for a cuppa and a hot cross bun - still a few left!!

Have a great week,

Love n hugs,

Cindy xx

Hi Cindy. it's been fairly quiet here too though we did get invited to a friend's one evening. The clocks changing always throws me and the dogs are a bit confused about the time too. Loving the fold card. I've really got into these as fancy fold cards are very popular at our craft club. I'm just working on a couple of instruction sheets at the moment for a couple of pop out cards. Have a good woyww. Hugs Angela x7x

LOL! "What could go wrong?" You do make me laugh. If it were me, the answer would be A LOT... Liking the fold too - I do just love an interactive card. :)
Back on track so Happy WOYWW!

You sound just like me making the waterfall card on my blog this week. The number of times I screwed up! How can you go wrong when following instructions and a video too? I managed!
Your floating seagull card (where did they get that name from) Is beautiful. I did this last year at our club so am sure that you will be fine.Love the colour and the floral decoration so it is sure to be a winner. There's nothing but a lovely mantle showpiece to capture the hearts of the ladies.
Have a good week, despite the weather forecast which again for up north is poor.
Lotsa Hugs, Neet 2 xx

I love how you say it’s ‘Simples’ and then get discombobulated about it. Your card is beautiful, though I was expecting seagulls. It reminded me of my friend who’s scared of birds. We were eating chips once in Canterbury and one seagull came near. She thought it would be a good idea to throw it a chip, to make it go away and did so before I could stop her. Of course, masses of seagulls arrived pdq. It was like Hitchcock! We ran away, laughing. I guess seagull’s just the fold, but it reminded me of a funny memory.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Love both your cards and the fold is intriguing. A weird name for a fold, but I found a YouTube showing how it is done which I am going to look at. Best of luck with your class. Happy WOYWW. Angela #10

Great fold, funny name! It's always the simplest ones that fox everyone and when you're the 'teacher' and have to watch them doing it upside down...OOh err! It does look great though acindy and I see what you mean about a mantle pleaser!

I love the floating seagull card! I don't do many fun fold cards, but I always enjoy myself when I do! I think that confusion is the most interesting part of the fun fold and interactive cards! Good luck with your class. I am sure it will all turn out perfectly!

Have a wonderful week!
